Question about Maytag Neptune MAH5500B Front Load Washer
I don't know if this is a solution but...
I too was just in your shoes. On a thread elsewhere on the site I found that there is a green fishing line that will release the lock hidden under the soap tray. (Remove it and then look in the pocket towards the front. You can reach in and pull out the line. Pulling it releases the lock)
Once the door was open. I unpluged the machine for a minute and then then closed the door making sure that it was snug.
I hit the On button and the machine went back in to a normal cycle.
We are currently waiting for it to finish. I plan on looking closer at the lock mechanism and see if it needs to be cleaned.
