I turn on my telly and it just keeps saying no input signal detected

I'm quite knowledgable with electronics and I've done as much troubleshooting as possible. i.e. double checked multiple sources that a signal is being sent and also double checked multiple inputs as well. I've tried my sources with other monitors and they've worked fine. Sometimes I will get a picture but then will turn off after a bit. The tv remains on but the "no signal" will pop up again. And yes, I've quadruple cheched my cables too.

Sounds as if your telly is switched out to Computer Input screen, that is a message to tell you that it does not detect your computer. You need to switch it back to TV

Sounds like you need someone local to look at it for you .many have an input source that might need changed to a different input. Assume a TELLY means a television and ATENER or ANTENER is the ANTENNA . .

Im havin problems settin my laptop to my telly my telly is 47inch baird ive attatched the vga lead but nt sure what i do

You may have two settings to change; make sure that your laptop has its external VGA turned on. You may have to access the CMOS setup or choose an external monitor from the Control Panel - Display settings.
On your TV, you will have to change the input selection which is probably set for 'Cable' now. You didn't mention the model number of your set so can't check which verbiage is available through your menu. Once you have found the input selection section of the TV menu, if VGA is not specifically mentioned, just have material set up on your laptop (movie or similar) and step through the possibilities - slowly - so your set has a chance to see if signal is available from the selected input.
If it is still telling you 'no signal,' your laptop may still not be outputting anything to the TV.

My television keeps on saying that it has no signal, what does this mean?

It means it isn't detecting a signal (video) from any of the inputs. Check to see if the input device (DVD player, Cable box, etc.) is on and connected properly.

On which channel on tv set can i see the wii image the remote control switches the console on & off but we can't do anythying further despite of our connecting it correctly

hi, once you have plugged the wii into a socket on the back of the telly you then switch the wii on and then get your telly remote then depending on how you have it plugged in would depend on what button to press, if its the rectangle scart lead fitting type then you need to press one of these buttons.
av
source
input
or a picture of a rectangle with an arrow facing to the right

so find these buttons on your remote and press it now depending on how many inputs the telly has would depend on how many times you press the button you may need to press it up to 5 times so bare this in mind, if it is scart lead then if you look on the back of the telly where you plug the lead in it should tell you if its av1 or av2 or av3 if it tells you this then thats how many times you need to press the button.

if your using the 3 color leads then these will be under one of these buttons.
source
input
or the rectangle with the arrow
or video button
or button that says ext
once you have found these buttons give it a press until you see the picture.

then to get back to your tv you keep pressing the button till you get the tv picture or press a button that says tv.

let me know if you have any problems ok

Video input

Hi the only slight chancer you have of doing this without the remote and this will only work with some tellys is to have the telly switched on then the device you have connected to the video input have this switched off at the wall then with the telly on switch the device on your trying to get the telly to pick up now some tellys will pick up the signal and go to that input channel, if how ever this dont work your going to need to go out and buy an all in 1 remote, these remotes cost next to nothing to buy you can get them off the well known auction site or from your nearest cheap shop such as discount stores that sell goods for next to nothing these remotes will work on all tellys and would solve your problem if the way i told you dont work.

Im sorry their is no easy way to get it to change but without the remote your pretty much stuck unless on the telly you have a button that looks like a square with an arrow running from left to right if you have this button then pressing this wil change the input source for you, if you dont have this then the only option would be an all 4 1 remote.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Have ps3 that was working fine, unhooked it from one tv to another and proceeded with holding the power button 5 seconds til it beeped twice and still have blank screen

hi, if the ps3 was working fine on the other tv and you have not dropped it or anything like that then this would point towards their being a fault with the lead of the connection in the back of the telly.

what you should do is unplug it all again and refit all the leads in the back of the ps3 making sure they are pushed in far enough then plug the lead into the back of the telly making sure you push it in far enough, then switch the telly on and then switch the ps3 on if the telly dont change to the correct channel as soon as the ps3 comes on then you need to get the telly control and put the tv on the correct channel.

now depending on how many inputs the telly has would depend on how many times you press the button on the control, the button you need to press is going to be on of the following its either av, input, source, ext, aux, or a picture of a rectangle with an arrow running from left to right, now once you have found this button make sure your ps3 is on with a game in then press the button on the tv remote then wait couple of seconds it may say something like av1 on the telly if this dont show the ps3 then press it again it should then go to av2 and keep going until you see the game on the ps3 you need to keep going until your telly is on the right input channel.
once you have done this your ps3 should be working again.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

BLANK TV

hi, what you need to do is find the source button or av button on your remote control as it sounds like its changed source this causing your problem. As you probably know your telly has many inputs for dvd vcr cable or sky but these plug into one of the inputs in the back of telly. Usually the problem is just that your on the wrong input channel like av1 instead of av2 or rgb their are many inputs so you might need to press this button 2 or 3 times till you get the right channel, i dont mean 1 to 9 channels i mean input channel like rf input or av input. This depends on what your getting the signal from if its cable and its plugged in via scart lead then it will be an av input but you might have av1 av2 av3 av4 this depends on your telly.
If your still having problems then give me a shout back ok best to check all the leads are in the telly correct as this will cause the problem your having ok.
Let me know how you get on ok or if you need further help

Got six wires co ming out of amp two for rear speakers two for front two for center and only two on my telly and also my dvd player

I'm assuming the "six wires" you're asking about are outputs that should go to your speakers.

I'm also assuming the the "two on your telly" are audio inputs for your telly's two speakers. You could wire these up as your two front speakers if you would like, but you're really better off getting real speakers for front and not using the TV speakers at all.

Your DVD player should have no audio inputs at all, so you should not wire any of your receiver's outputs to it. end of story.

Your receiver should have audio (and perhaps video) INPUTS for your DVD player, in which case there should only be two (Left and right) this is fine. Your receiver should split the DVD signal into 5.6/6.1 whatever.

hope it helps.

AUTO SIGNAL DETECTING NO SIGNAL

Yes, I seem to have fixed the problem on my Akai using some creative google finds. One of two things worked - not sure which:

1. Leave the set unplugged overnight - it must let the electronics reset when the residual charges clear
2. For my Akai (remotes and models vary), hit in remote's sequence quickly - brightness, freeze, menu, enter - this places you in some screen that offers a hard reset option. That didn't work right away, but i did it before the option above and then the set worked again.

My problem was really odd because it worked for the component inputs and you could see the video and TV signals inside the PIP windows, but not full screen as primary input. Why the TV could 'see' the signals in a PIP windows but not detect them as primary I have no idea.
