How to make a Library System using visual basic?

To make a library management s/w we need to break down the whole system-
1)Stock:Where we keep the records of books and add new books.
2)Members:Where we keep records of members and add new members.
3)Lending:Where we keep records of people who took the books.

STOCK
--------------
The stock should consist of various attributes of books,like book no.,book name,author,price etc.
LENDING
--------------
This must contain the attributes of members, like reg no.,of books, like book no, due date,fine due etc. This module must control the restrictions put upon the members by the library, like only 4 books at a time.The violations of due date must also be controlled in this page.
MEMBERS
-----------------
This must contain the details of members like their reg no, membership fee, membership expiry date,fines due, contact details etc.

All these modules must be connected to a minimum of 3 tables in the back end.Linking these tables to various forms at once produces best results.

Lucky draw coding

You need two things:
1. JSP/Servlet knowledge.
2. SQL Programming basics

1. Create your PR jsp page which contain a form with method post and action to a servlet that will handle the insertion of the data to a database table i would add winners table containing ID, Frkey, thenumber

2. A servlet that will generate the number and cross check with those who guessed right and update the winners table with that data.

3. A servlet that will do an inner join with the pr and winners tables to display the results.

Good luck

Php counter

You might want to note that this is not the most effective manner of creating a counter in PHP. On a few of my websites, I find it is much more effective to simply create a text file, eg. counter.txt and have PHP read that every time the page is loaded, instead of running a MySQL query. Then, have PHP also update the counter.txt file by adding 1 to the number already listed in the file and read to the user.

How do i use date in visual basic 6

Hi,

I am not getting your problem clearly.
If you are referring to save the input dates as date in database with the help of sql query then you need to provide hash(#) mark at the beginning and end of date values. It will resolve your problem.

Hope this helps and let me know if you are not getting the solution clearly.

Thanks.

How to create a multiple access query and put altogether into 1 SQL Scrip(.sql file)

Suggest using Union Query. Thus, you can add more queries from many table and the output will be in one (1) query. Bear in mind that all fields must have same Field Name.

For example:
tblOne contains dtDate1 fieldname. Your query will select [tblOne].[dtDate1] As myDate.
tblTwo contains dtDate2 fieldname. Your query will have the following SQL:

Select [tblOne].[dtDate1] As myDate
UNION Select [tblTwo].[dtDate2] as myDate

Thus the output will result dates from tblOne and tblTwo in a column called myDate.

Maha

SQL Invalid cursor number 135 error

The error is being generated because you are trying to order on a value not in your selected fields e.g EFFECTIVE_DATE

You only have TRANSACTION_TYPE in your select statement

Imports System.Data
Public Class SaveImage
Shared Sub main()
Dim o As System.IO.FileStream
Dim r As StreamReader
Dim gifFile As String
Console.Write("Enter a Valid .Gif file path")
gifFile = Console.ReadLine
If Dir(gifFile) = "" Then
Console.Write("Invalid File Path")
Exit Sub
End If
o = New FileStream(gifFile, FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read, FileShare.Read)
r = New StreamReader(o)
Try
Dim FileByteArray(o.Length - 1) As Byte
o.Read(FileByteArray, 0, o.Length)
Dim Con As New _ System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.3.51;Persist Security Info=False;Data
Source=Test.mdb")
Dim Sql As String = "INSERT INTO images (Pic,FileSize) VALUES (?,?)"
Dim Cmd As New System.Data.OleDb.OleDbCommand(Sql, Con)
Cmd.Parameters.Add("@Pic", System.Data.OleDb.OleDbType.Binary, o.Length).Value = FileByteArray
Cmd.Parameters.Add("@FileSize", System.Data.OleDb.OleDbType.VarChar, 100).Value = o.Length
Con.Open()
