SOURCE: Cerwin Vega V-10S Subwoofer doesn´t sounds good

dear "rai17"

This, to me, is most likely the voice coil inside the driver rubbung against the yolk plate, or possibly the spyder slapping the metal plate underneath it, or the amp-(if it has one?) getting tired. this can occur from poor build quality, or playing the subwoofer too loud. depending on how much it cost you, you may want to get it repaired(voice coil re-alignment or something or new amp). But the way it seems, it is probably the driver itself. subwoofers get looser as they break in. This one may have been over-broken....sorry

I hope this helped clarify what is happening!

You may have only messed up the crossover circuit. Try changing the crossover frequency and see if hte behavior changes. If so, then the parts cost should be minimal. If the behaviorr remains the same, there will need to be more investigation done internally. This is not a problem that is likely to be easily resolved remotely. Can you update this with your location? I may be able to provide a recommendation for a service shop.

I have a blown LW12 Cerwin Vega Speaker. Can

You have several ranges of options.

1) Contact Cerwin-Vega customer service: http://www.cerwin-vega.com/

2) Do a google search on "cerwin vega speaker replacement". You will find companies both that offer repair or repair kits (e.g., www.simplyspeakers.com) or sell replacements. Contact them - they have the expertise to tell you which of their products are most suitable for your model.

Buzzing Cerwin Vega LS-12 Subwoofer

Generally, a buzz from your sound equipment indicates some sort of nearby EMI. The normal culprits and.or possible fixes that I've found are:

- Remove any other electronic devices plugged into the same outlet as your subwoofer

- If the woofer is on a power strip/surge protector, remove it and plug directly into the wall

- If there are any nearby wireless devices (cordless phiones, WiFi eqiupment), disconnect/power down them

- Try connecting different speaker wire between the woofer & the receiver

- Try turning off all other eletronic equipment with the exception of your receiver

Let me know if any of these help and good luck!

Cerwin Vega ve-28s subwoofer and new Cervin Vega 2-way satellites

I bought my VE-28s and it did exactly that crackled, cerwin replaced part in amp but few months later problem persisted. they then replaced entire amp assembly and its been fine. i really push it to and its been fine. to test it, unplug the connection from amp/ reciever and see if it persists. if so its the sub, if not its the amp/ reciever. dont dump it, these subs really crank and can put out some deep loud bass.
