I can't go online

I'm using the wireless USB for my desktop however i can't go to any webpage but i am connected to the network. The signal strength is low and the receiving packet is not moving at all. My laptop is able to connect to the network. The USB worked with other desktop using a different network so i think it should be the my network but i don't know what to do about it. I am afraid to meddle with the router settings since i don't really know any technical stuff.

    No need to worry..Iam here to help u..i need to know the model no of the router and wireless adapter.is ur network is secured??please reply as soon as possible so that we can resolve ur issue..

My problem is related to data acquisition from a data recorder like CVR to laptop using wireless techniques. what are the devices supposes to use? it should compliant to 802.11 b/g/n.

It is possible that the Xbox will be unable to pick up the wireless signal being transmitted by your gateway because the signal is too weak.

The connection speed of your internet has nothing to do with the strength of the signal. The best way to test this would be to try to connect to your wireless internet on a laptop while sitting near the xbox. If you cannot, you will know that the signal isn't powerful enough to reach that location.

There are three common options to amplifying your signal if necessary.

1) Purchase a High-gain antenna for your wireless gateway
2) Purchase a wireless repeater
3) Purchase a new router/gateway with a longer range capability. A "Wireless N" enabled router would be optimal for this application.

I have a problem with my NETGEAR WNA1100 Wireless-N 150 USB Adapter. I use it with my desktop PC and a Belkin 802.11g router placed in another room. As soon as I installed it, everything seemed to work...


Your Issue can be Solved by assigning DNS address on your Computer.

>First of all change the Security on the Belkin Router to WEP Mode.

--- Remove Preferred Networks From your Computer.

- Right Click on wireless Network Connection > Properties > Select Wireless Networks tab > Remove your network From Preferred Networks Box.

--- Associate with your wireless Network.

- Right Click on wireless Network Connection > View Available Wireless Networks > Select your network > Click connect

---> Check if you are able to go online.

--- If Not Try Assigning DNS Addresses For your Wireless Network

- Right Click on Wireless Network Connection > Properties > Under this connection uses the Following Items. > Double Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

- Select Use the Following DNS Server Addresses:

- Preferred DNS Server: 4.2.2.1

- Alternate DNS Server: 4.2.2.2

- Click OK & OK again

- Now Check if you are able to go online if still No go Check if you can go online on any other wireless Com or Device using the Belkin Router If Yes it Might Be an Issue with your Adapter or there Might Be an Antivirus Installed on your com Try Disabling it.

try to use DNS 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222
put this under your Wireless Lan properties.

If you can see many Wi-Fi nets at your area, try changing the settings especialy the channel transmition for your net.

My wireless network connection status in connected Speed is11.0 and my signal strength is good, but I cannot connect to the internet connection godd but internet explorer cannot display the webpage


You are getting local access only.
Right click on the icon in the system tray and click repair....

If it still happens you need to connect to a different network..this usually happens if you are connecting to an unsecured network (I assume yours).

Alternative: Unplug the network adapter. Turn off the computer. Wait approx 2 minutes.
Power on computer with net adapter connected....

Was working ok, now cannot get online using belkin modem-router. Says I am connected to my network, "signal strength excellent" but no wireless connection. Using the Belkin Modem router I am unable to...


please try to reset your router.

on the back of the router there is a little hole where you can insert a pen or a paperclip. hold it pressed in for 30 seconds and then release.

wait 10 minutes and try to connect to internett again (after connecting to the wireless net ofc)

Can not connect wirelessly with router


The list of wireless routers that are available in Windows is very limited and the signal strength of any router that is detected is weak. This can occur when the Lite-On USB Wireless 802.11 b/g hardware and Windows are not able to fully synchronize the signal strength data. This update should only be applied if your PC has the Lit-On USB Wireless LAN adapter and is exhibiting the symptom. As a work-around, you can connect the wire that runs from the wireless antenna port to the primary port on the cord as follows: CAUTION: This product contains components that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). To reduce the chance of ESD damage, work over a non-carpeted floor, use a static dissipative work surface (like a conductive foam pad), and wear an ESD wrist strap connected to a grounded surface.
  1. Open the side panel.

  3. Very carefully, disconnect the small wire from the board by gently pulling the end of the wire away from the board.

  5. Replace the side panel, connect the power cord, turn on the computer, and use the computer again to verify that wireless signal strengths have improved.

Signal dropping out when useing netgear adapter


You may find that either the signal strenf=ght is not there or there are other devices near by on the same channel as the router.

Use THIS app to test the signal strength and check the channels is use also

You may want to either move the router to a higher postion (on a shelf) or get an external antenna for it to boost range. Be aware that cordless phones are a source of interferance so thias may affect signal strength, reception etc. Put some distance between such devices and the router/widfi card etc.

Internet Explorer cannot display the web page


Could be a vista compatibility problem.
check Linksys website for updated driver and or connection manager.

check that you still have permission in firewall.

remove the software of the usb wireless adapter,reboot ,then re install.

just a couple of thoughts
