What is it you are trying to do? Are you trying to share the internet connection from your computer? This is rarely done these days. Most people connect to the internet through a router and modem. Sharing is done between computers for files.

Hello my name is prakash i used window7 in my PC problem is me connect my tablet in my PC via cable and start internet but not open any sites why Please solve my problem Thanks

Hi Prakash, you will probably needs to provide a bit more information of the issue, but from what you are sying it sounds like you will need to turn on Internet Connection Sharing on you PC so your laptop can use the internet connection from your PC. Perhaps better solution will be to get wireless access point and use your tablet via the wireless.

If you have issues have a look at the link i shared.

Connect the Laptop and TV with a *CROSSOVER* ethernet cable and then enable "Internet Connection Sharing" on the Laptop's "Wireless Network Connection".

To enable "Internet Connection Sharing", open the Network Connections folder ("Start > Run" type NCPA.CPL and click OK). Right click the Wireless Network Connection, select Properties and then the Advanced tab [XP] or Sharing tab [Vista]. Tick the box "Allow other network users to connect through through this computer's internet connection.

How to network

Basically if both the laptop and the PC can access the Internet at the same time then you have working network with the laptop and PC.
First make sure the laptop and PC have the same Workgroup name (it may already have Workgroup as the Workgroup name, you can change it if you wish). To change the Workgroup name open Control Panel - System - click on Computer Name tab - click Change and you can change the Computer name then select Workgroup and enter or change the Workgroup name - click OK and OK again.
Next enable Sharing on both the PC and laptop open My Computer - right click on the C Drive - click on Sharing tab - tick Sharing this folder on the network - add a Share name to identify the computer/folder (eg C drive on PC).
If you do not enable sharing on the drives or folders then they will not be available to the computers on the network.
If you have more drives, them repeat this for the other hard drive and or CD or DVD drives.
Re-boot the computers and you will be able to see the comuters on your network through My Network Places.

I AM UNABLE TO ACCESS INTERNET THRU MY HYBRID APPLE MAC DESK TOP-

Go into network set up a shared Internet connection using ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) You can use Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) to share an Internet connection among two or more computers on a network. First, you need one computer, called the host computer, that is connected to the Internet and that has a separate connection to the other computers on your network. You enable ICS on the Internet connection. The other computers on your network then connect to the host computer, and from there to the Internet through the host computer's shared Internet connection.
If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings might prevent you from completing these steps.
On the host computer (the computer whose Internet connection you plan to share):
  1. ?id=microsoft.windows.resources.shellexecutetopiciconClick to open Network Connections.
  2. Right-click the connection that you want to share, and then click Properties.getcontent.aspx?assetid=18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b&documentset=en-us&renderkey=signed1 If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
  3. Click the Sharing tab, and then select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection check box.

How to share internet connection on Windows Vista OS. I want to share internet connection between two Laptops using Windows Vista Operating system and the other using Windows XP. The Host computer is...

All right let's call your Vista computer A and your Xp computer B. First you have to bring the two computers into LAN. If you already did this, please skip the next eight steps.

Step 1: In Vista, before doing this you should enable Sharing and Discovery. You can do that by going to Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center. Under the section ‘Sharing and Discovery, enable Network discovery, File Sharing, Public folder sharing and others if you want to. (See picture below)

Step 2: If your LAN card that is connecting to another computer is installed, it will be shown under Control Panel -> Network Connections.

Step 3: Right click that local area connection and click properties.

Step 4: Under the tab ‘Networking’, click the properties Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).

Step 5: Click the radio button to ‘Use the following IP’ and give an IP address (For example, IP address: 192.168.0.1 and Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0)

Step 6: Don’t give any other information, Click Ok and close everything.

Step 7: In computer B, which is the XP, make sure you enable the LAN card which is used to connect to computer ‘A’. Here you need not give any IP information as Computer ‘A’ will assign an IP address dynamically. If it’s not working make sure there are no IP assigned and change the properties to ‘Obtain an IP address automatically’.

Step 8: Test the connection by pinging. (You can do this by typing ping 192.168.0.1 or whichever is Compter ‘A’s IP in the comand prompt)

NOW your computers are connected. Now to share the internet:

Right click LAN card which is connected to Internet under Control Panel -> Network Connections and click ‘Sharing’ tab and enable both the options to share Internet. (Note: Unless there is another enabled LAN setting you will not be able to see the shared tab under properties)

Click Ok and close. This option is given by the Windows OS known as ICS (Internet Connection Sharing).

Now you can use Internet from both Computer A and Computer B from a single connection.

So this is the setup you need on the Host computer as you requested, if you turn out to need help witht he XP one too, let me know:)
