Well,

you can only "erase" CDRW or DVDRW. Plain Cd's or DVD's are 1 write only.

What is the difference between a DVD+RW and a DVD-RW.

DVD-RW
It is the re-recordable version of the DVD-R. To use this type of media you will need to buy a DVD-RW recorder. The DVD-RW recorders usually record DVD-R, CD-R and CD-RW media, too. Similarly to what happens to DVD-R, DVD-RW disks can be played in newer commercial DVD players without any problems. Older commercial devices cannot recognize the media, refusing to play the disk. To play a DVD-RW disk, commercial players need the disk to be finished. After finishing the disk, you can only record new data in it by reformatting it, which makes you lose all the recorded data.

DVD+RW

It is the re-recordable version of the DVD+R and everything that was said about the DVD+R is valid for the DVD+RW. Only the newest DVD players play movies recorded in disks using this format. There are recorders on the market that can record both DVD-RW disks and DVD+RW ones. These recorders are called DVD?±RW. Similarly to the DVD-RW, the disk needs to be finished to be played in commercial DVD players, and to record new data in the disk after having finished it requires reformatting it, which makes all the data in it to be erased. DVD+RW recorders are usually capable of reading DVD-RW disks (but not of recording them) and vice-versa.

There you are.

Can these disk be re write or erased? Please send me an email via affordableshutters@yahoo.com Corrington Maycock

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. The CD is not a Rewritable disk you can only burn once. If you need a DVD or CD that can be rewrite or erase look for DVD-RW or CD-RW.

Thanks for using Fixya

My nero rw cd burner is not working it found lack of cd recorder to erase rw disk, how to solve this problem

Open "My Computer".
Is the CD-writer shown as a device?
If not, then the Nero software cannot find the "not-attached" CD-recorder device.

Turn the computer off. Remove the power-cord.
Check the "power" and "data" connections to the CD-recorder.

If all else fails, spend $40 to buy a replacement CD/DVD reader/writer.

Which dvd's do I buy for my burner?

Any DVD+r or -r will work to record. If you want to reuse the DVD you need to get DVDRW discs so you can erase them and re record on them. and if you have a very long move or data you can use DVD Dual layer discs.

I have a Go-Video-PDS Professional Duplication Systems Tower and It records 11 CD's at once. I don't have the manual instructions booklet that came with it and so i have been looking all over the internet...

One a CD has been used or even partially recorded... you can not record on it again.... so if you stop recording on the CD-R disc... you have to start with a new fresh CD-R and throw away the other CD-R disc. Many people make this mistake and try to record on the partially recorded CD-R discs or they have one or two mixed in with their blank CD-R's and wonder why their duplicator doesn't work?
