Question about Walgreens By Homedics Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor 1ea

Open Question

We have a Model #518729 Ultra Deluxe Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor. It was suppose to come with 2 cuffs, it only came with one. I'm thinking we need to order the larger one. Also this monitor reads low. How can we see if this is correct? According to an old wrist BP monitor, this one is always lower than the wrist one. Also this monitor, when pumping up, if it has to pump up for a second time, it really hurts your arm and has left marks on my arm. Will a larger cuff keep that from happening? How much are those cuffs?

Dear Edward: Likely, either cuff not tight enough or not in correct location on your arm or not holding device at correct height. Make sure you use Lithium Ion batteries. Try it on someone else. Dr Ron Grassi,Jupiter,Florida.USA. www.DrGrassi.com 30ad4e8.jpg

SOURCE: What is the data link for on the HoMedics #518729

There was supposed to be Healthvault software from Microsoft. Along with a optional USB adapter (from the micro port on the BP machine to the computer USB port) the software uploads the blood pressure data to a site where it can be shared electronically with those you choose, like several different doctors. I'm just researching this information having just bought a unit, but if you are persistant, you should be able to find the software link. Any micro USB to USB connector should work to connect to the computer. Merry Christmas and good luck! 12/25/09 by electro1

Neither of the cuffs on the Homedics S18729 Ultra-Deluxe Automatic Blood Pressure Monitor work. They do not fit well around my arm and constantly slip while inflating. I don't know if it is a design flaw...

Robert, I'm not sure that the cuffs would be interchangeable. But, I suspect the problem you're having with the cuff is operator error. Speaking from experience, it's somewhat difficult at best, to apply and arm cuff to yourself. It does take some practice, but if you can get the cuff snugly in place, it should inflate properly. If you want to pursue with interchanging the cuff, contact HoMedics at 800-469-3342, to see if it's possible. Perhaps, you should get a BP Monitor that has a wrist cuff. They're a lot easier to apply and use.

Cuff does not inflate properly. Blows up like a balloon and does not press on your arm

I think your BPM machine has some problems in the electronic components it might not due to the cuff. Shoud return to the shop when you bought it from.

Blood pressure monitor

it will keep recording the latest readings, and auto delete the 20th one.
I think if the batteries are removed for an extended time it will zero, but then you have to go through the set up again

WITH AUTOMATIC CUFF BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR GETTING ERROR

E might represents insufficient inflation for your mom. For automatic inflation monitors usually there is a mechanism to keep inflating the cuff to higher pressures for people with higher BP. Check how is done. In some auto monitors, while cuff is inflated you keep pressing on START button until pressure reaches to some 15 to 20 mmHg higher than the pressure that auto usually stops and displays E.

When the pressure comes up on the monitor the top number was reading EE. It did it three times. I can't find the instructions. The machine is an Omron model: 741CREL. Thanks.

EE=Cuff under-inflated=not inflated enough. While cuff is inflated, keep pressing START button until pressure reaches 15-20 mmHg higher than the pressure when it stops and displays EE. Make sure at least 5 min allowed between readings.

Try different locations. The sensor must be over a vain to pick up the pulse. Locate the point on the cuff where the sensor is, and place this over the elbow. That should work. Good luck.
