I don't know if it is the speakers or the marantz 2270. But when I turn the volume up I get poping sounds threw the speakers. At low volume it's fine. Do I have something hook up wrong?

First you need to make sure the speakers are hooked up in phase. +from the amp to + on the speaker. Left and right the same. If the speakers are more than 5 years old you need to check the foam suround if it is cracked or disintegrataed. Having them refoamed could solve the problem. You also need to look around the dust cap if you see a stress ring in the cone then the speakers have been lpushed too hard and need to be reconed or replaced.

Wiring

To hook up speaker's, is not that hard to do.
there are two wire's for speakers, one is the earth and the other is positive.
You will be able to tell by, one of the wire's will have two colors that will be the earth.
hook the wire's up to your speakers, it will not matter if you get them wrong.
you will not blow them, the speaker might be a bit low just swap the wire around.
do this to the other speaker and you will be fine!

Good luck!!!!

Need diagram of how to hook up my western digitial sata harddrive to mother board a asus a7n8x-e deluxe

this motherboard does not support your new Hard Drive. SATA is a connection type required for your hard drive. Your motherboard supports IDE connector. You probably can get a pci card that allows you to attach the hard drive.

Speakers don't work. Used Dell Dimension 4550 with no setup guide. Don't know if speakers need power source or just plug into hard drive. Volume control is on. Louis

depending on the speakers--if battery powered or powerpack--they need a driver to work--
you can do a hardware check to see if the speakers are found.
The speakers are NOT plugged into the hard drive..the are plugged into a LPT port that is plugged into the motherboard. The hard drive is the main unit that stores all the windows operational system functions, and software you install on it. This can not happen IF there is no motherboard that has the critical information to tell the hard drive to accept the information and where to send that information through the CPU (central prosessing unit). The drivers are the programs that make your speakers, printers, and any other hardware you add work. Now before the speakers can work the motherboard need a sound card and the driver to make that operational. So the sound card needs to be checked too. go to the dell web site for the drivers for the sound card if needed. www.dell.com

you also have a setting comtrol for your volume too. make sure the volume is turned on.

I would like to know how to hook up rca cord into a factory radio, so I can hook up my sub and amp without changing the deck. Is there a relay I need?..... thanks for your time........ Corey

Not a relay, but a line level converter. You can get one at any place that installs car radios. You tap off your speaker wires and it brings the level down to the proper level for input to an amplifier. It has no appreciable drain on your speaker output so you would not even notice any drop in volume from the radio to the speakers it drives.

Let me know if you need any more help, and a FixYa! rating would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave
