Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
In hopes to keep my costs down, ( I hope) I found a good deal on a Playstation PS3 98001 on ebay being sold by dealtree AS IS due the fact the system did not power up. Yet cosmetically great, in original box and all accessories including even the manuals still with the bundle.
I am assuming this means I need to replace the power supply right? (I HOPE) This unit also is sold without the hard drive (alot of their inventory was this way) so the model number is 98001-NOHD. I did some research and it looks as if the 98001 came with a 20G hard drive. I assume I am not restricted to just that size.
What is the best way to go about repairing system in this state and what is the type of power supply I need to purchase if required? I am trying to surprise my fiance who didn't think we could afford a new system. I hope I haven't got myself into a bad situation.
Thanks so much.
Yes, you need to get a new power cable, also get a new Hard Drive for it, they aren't that expensive. Just get those 2 things, plug them in, and you will be all set :) Hope this helped.
