Hi,

Bought used MacPro laptop don't know password

If you have installer disk handy,

Versions 10.9, 10.8, and 10.7
Boot into the Mac OS X boot loader menu by holding down the OPTION key at system start
  • Choose the Recovery drive to boot into recovery mode and wait until the "Utilities" screen appears
  • Pull down the "Utilities" menu and choose "Terminal"
  • At the command line, type "resetpassword" without the quotes
  • Confirm the new account password, then reboot the Mac as usual

Versions 10.6 and 10.5
  • Insert the bootable DVD into the Mac and restart or start the computer
  • Boot the disk by holding down the "C" key at system start
  • Select your language preferences and then under the "Utilities" menu select "Password Reset" (it may say "Reset Password" instead, depends on theversion of Mac OS X)
  • Select the hard disk that the forgotten password is on, then select the username of the forgotten password, you'll then be asked to select a new password
  • Reboot as usual from the hard drive, using your newly reset password as the login!

Driver iMac OS X 10.1

I strongly recommend adding memory and updating to OS 10.3 - it's a huge improvement over 10.1. Drivers for any original Apple hardware are automatically included in compatible operating systems. If a driver is needed for third-party hardware, contact the manufacturer. One exception is non-Apple internal optical drives - use Patchburn for these.

My MACPro laptop will not load. The loading Wagonwheel just runs and runs. What does that mean?

Power off, remove RAM chips and re-insert firmly back into slots. Power up again and give that a shot. Nothing? Take the RAM chips out and insert new RAM chips you know are good. Give that a shot. Nothing? Make sure you got the right RAM specs, as Macs are picky and not any RAM will do. Nothing? Insert your disc 1 and go into disk utility and repair permissions and also choose repair disc. Nothing? Backup your data and re-install the operating system. Nothing? Get a new hard drive and install the new operating system. Still nothing? Well then old chap- your fu,ked as I've run out of ideas.

Reinstalling white macbook, tried using my osx install disc from

Most original instal disks that come prepacked with new machine are specific to the that machine. What I would suggest is buying a system disk from your local apple store who will also offer advice on system requirements.

Hi, I have forgotten password for Macpro apple. how could i get involve?

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

I cant find Macpro, but Macbook pro from Apple.

- if this is the one, then:

In a word 'no', you need the disk, then it is very easy.

If you have lost your disks, Apple will replace them for a small cost, less than the price of a retail version of Tiger.

You could also take it to your local Apple Store and ask if they will help...they shouldn't charge you anything !

You may have a RAM problem. One of the most serious problems that can afflict your Mac is "bad memory" -- the common term for a defective RAM chip.
Apple provides Apple Hardware Test with every new Mac -- it's either on the Mac OS X Install/Restore disc, or on a separate Hardware Test disc.

Here are the instruction on how to run the Apple Hardware Test CD:

http://support.apple.com/kb/TA25668?viewlocale=en_US

copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
