Forgot my wifi password

you have to connect to the router with a wired connection, see what ip it asigns to you by doing this:

WinKey + R (Run dialogue)

Type : cmd (Black window with console)

Type : ipconfig (enter)

Look for IPv4 Address

After determining your ip address, open any browser you have installed, enter ip addres you saw in console like so xxx.xxx.xxx.1

where xxx is ip from console.

After doing this your router should ask for authentification.

after login, go to wireless setup. security and there you will find password for wify. not sure if it\'s shown or not, but surely you can change it.

Tip

How to check if you are connected to a usable network..

On any Windows device there is a set of protocols called TCP/IP.
When your device connects to a network, it attempts to obtain a TCP/IP network address that means it can connect to other devices on the network, or the Internet.
If it CANNOT obtain an address, you cannot do anything at all.
The actual address you obtain is set by the network administrator, but there is a way to tell if the network is not giving you a "real" address!
Windows 95 or 98 "start", "run" type in "cmd", then in the window that appears type "winipcfg"
Windows 2000 or later, "start", "run" type in "cmd", then in the window that appears type "ipconfig"
Both will give you screens of information that you can scroll through; look for your network adapter, then the IP address. (in the format xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)
If the address begins 169.254 then you have NOT got a usable network connection.

My wireless says its connected but its not what do i do?

First thing you can do is a ipconfig /release /renew
to do that, go to:

Start>All Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt.
Once thats open, type in ipconfig /release
note, there should be a space between ipconfig and /release and renew
your ip address should come up with 0.0.0.0

Now type in ipconfig /renew
remember a space between ipconfig and /renew
You should see an ip address of 192.168.XXX.XXX or 10.10.XXX.XXX something like that, depending on your network settings.
if you do, you should be able to get on the internet.

If you see an address of 169.254.XXX.XXX
Then it would be best if you powered off the Modem and the Router.

First turn off the Router, Next the Modem.
Power back on in reverse order and see if it is able to connect then.

If all that fails, You can reset the router and see if it will connect then.
You should have a reset button on the back of the router.
Remember once the router is reset, you'll have to redo the security settings.

Hope this helps!

My network adapter unable identfy the local network

If you are getting a 169.XXX.XXX address, it means the computer is not getting an IP address assigned from the router.

Several common things can cause this. The modem is not configured for DHCP, the cable, network card or port on the modem are defective, or even a defective ethernet cable.

hope this helps. please rate:)

When my wireless network is unsecured I can connect fine and browse the internet fine, but the moment I try to set up security I get a "limited or no connectivity" message from my wireless network. What's...

You must ensure that you have enabled the router as a DHCP server and the client PC network connection is set up to "obtain an IP address automatically". If the computer is not obtaining a valid IP address from the DHCP server (i.e. the router) you will get the limited or no connectivity error. You can easily check to see if you have a good IP address by opening a CMD prompt window and running ipconfig.exe. Generally, the WBR-1310 will have assigned an IP address like 192.168.0.xxx. If you have an IP address like 169.254.xxx.xxx you router is not assigning your computer a valid IP address. Powering down the PC and/or the router will usually fix this, but not always. There are other, more compliated, steps that can resolve the problem if the above steps do not work.

Support

If you are looking for information on a network device, you can GOOGLE search the device for manuals and/or drivers. You can also go to Support of the Device Manufacture website. Both ways work equally well. BPCS
