Toshiba Satellite A25-S2792 w/ XP & P4 has greenpower chord is lit and yellow battery light is flashing when power chord is plugged in. After I press the power button, the power chord light changes to yellow, begins flashing and the battery light goes out. Removing the battery gives the same results. Pressing and holding power button down for 20 seconds w/ battery out yields same result as well. Suggestions?

Which password do you mean? Some laptops might have a BIOS password which is asked for before the O/S loads up. Or do you mean a password within the O/S itself? (In which case what O/S do you use? Windows? Linux?)

If you want to reset the windows password, you can use some third-party software. I recommend Windows Password Buster. This software can help you create a password reset disk. And with the password reset disk you can easily reset the password.

Yes,....good Ol' Windows updates. Known to knock a system partially out of commission.

Windows has lost the address to the Audio drivers. The reason it states Audio is working properly, is because Windows is full of it.

The Toshiba Satellite A25 series of Notebook PC's, did not come with Windows 7. It came with Windows XP. You, or someone else installed Windows 7.

The updates knocked the audio driver address file to the curb.
All you have to do, is install the Win7 installation disk again, and perform a Repair.

OR, use the Restoration Disk, (Backup disk)

Toshiba eSupport does not provide audio drivers for Win Vista, or Win 7, for this model. Only Win XP,

You can download any/allthe Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model laptop from the ToshibaWEB site from their download page. Make sure you enter the model of your laptopso you can get the correct drivers. Better you can download GOM player from internet.
download and use the same.

It may be a virus, or a driver issue. you will have to check through the error logs and see if there is anything that is showing up there to fix, Thouroughly check for Viruses, ensure all latest Service Packs are installed, and all the drivers are the latest especially the Video driver. See if there is any one program you are using when this happens, You could also try disabling one by one your programs that activate at start up. use start>>run>> msconfig, and go to startup tab, disable one by one, and reboot, keep going untill you have used them and tested all, also check the services too..

That flashing light indicates that the laptop is not getting power, check and test your power cord. That light should be light solid when plugged in. good Luck
