Panasonic PT-50DL54 50 in. Color spectrum off

I've have my Panasonic DLP TV for about three years now and just yesterday when I turned it on, I noticed that the color was way off, almost like all the red was gone (and I can't get the red back, no matter how much I adjust it, or reset the color). Normal skin tones are greenish, and even with adjustment are, at best, very yellow.

Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this problem? I had the lamp replaced a year ago (while still under waranty), but I'm no longer under waranty...and still would like it fixed. Any suggestions?

If it is hooked up with component cables, the red blue and green one could be loose or bad. ouble check that. also bypass the box completely and hook the cable straight into the tv and see what the picture looks like. If its good then something is either wrong with the component cables, cable box or TV itself. If you have multiple component inputs on the tv, try a different one and see if the problem still exists. it is possible that the board on the tv is shot as well. Call the cable company and have them take a closer look.

Limited color on screen primarily blue, white and green. I use to be able to fix by giving the screen a gentle wiggle but color spectrum is gone.

Sounds like you have a bad joint on the tv circuit board somewhere. There is another thing it could be if you have a scart lead connected. Pull it out and check to make sure none of the pins are dissapearing inside the plug. Sometimes they slip inside. Check both ends of the lead.

Color on tv

If this happens to all the input sources, the main logic board is fired. If this happens to only one input source, only that input source circuit is fired.
It is costly to replace the main logic board. And then there are other components ready to die out soon.
Your set is at least 5 to 6 year old. Have you replace the lamp yet? It is rated for 10,000 hours. Yes, it will fail in about 10,000. Off brand replacement is cheaply made, can cost problem. (mine did). The nut holding the wire to the lamp was loose.
Time for a new TV. A new 46-47 inch LCD is less than a grand.

My panasonic dlp model pt43lc14 shows yellow picture

there are many mirrors, filters and lenses in the projection assembly, This happened to me too. I took the assembly apart and there was one of the filters that had gotten charred. I peeled off the plastic filter and cleaned the glass it was attached to then put the TV back together, now have a perfect picture again.

This is a very common failure on Projection TV sets.
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
