Seems that you may need to go to windows update and get the required drivers for your system www.windowsupdate.com go there and get all avail updates not just the security patches but also the custom updates and the hardware updates it will all be there . also u said that the same computer played these videos once opon a time so something went wrong somewhere .so im thinking you picked up a bug of somesort go to www.iobit.com and download advanced windows care for free not the pro version as its a 30 day trial home version is plenty run this program and follow instructions and it will do a registry clean up as well as a spyware sweep
good luck also see that you have the proper direct x 9.0c i think is the latest one

Can you provide more detail to your problem? What do you mean by speeding up the video? Do you still have a problem with sound? What is the model of your computer? What operating system are you running?
Thanks,
Lee

Hi,

Assuming that you have all the necessary video codes and the video player, it would be your hardware requirements that may be causing the slow response. This would either be your PC's memory, processor and/or video card.

If you were able to watch the videos before with no problems, then perhaps, your PC may be running several other programs in the background that is using most of your memory leaving very little for the video. Try removing some of those unnecessary programs in your Startup as well as in "msconfig/startup".

You may also want to check on possible virus and malwares.

As to your audio, the easy way is to check if it is muted or not. Additionally, you may want to check in your Device Manager if the drivers are installed with no yellow or red marks.

Additional information on your PC's hardware specs, Operating System and video player software would be helpful in further diagnosis.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Turn off beeping noise on a brandx xl7dv?

Its beeping for a reason, but if you desperately want to silence it you may be able to unplug the small speaker found inside. In the case of a board mounted speaker you can use some blu tack over the hole or for a permanent kill, a drop of super glue into the hole. This action is not reverseable and will permanently stop the speaker from working. If you do this you must accept full responsibility for the outcome.

Extremely slow running

Slow computer If you have a virus program installed, it is most likely is running a scan on your hard disk. It can slow down your computer especially if you have a large hard drive. After scanning is completed then the computer will be faster.
To make your computer (hard disk) lean and mean, uninstall any programs you do not use.
Also you need to maintain your hard disk by running Disk Cleanup this will remove old temp files and old compressed files etc.
This will reduce the number of files the virus scanner has to scan. Plus running Defrag. this makes your files contiguous so the system can access files off the hard drive quicker because it does not work as hard.. Disk Cleanup and Defrag should be carried out at least once a month.
If you have 512Mb of RAM installed then installing more RAM will speed up your computer. After installing your graphics card, you may need to disable the built-in graphics card in the BIOS for the new graphics card to work properly.

I have windows xp home version. The last two wks every time I play a video it stops and starts though out the whole video. I have scanned, malware, virus, nothing shows up,scanned in sake mode no virus....

The problem is most likely that your video is playing faster than the video is downloading. Pause the video and wait a few minutes for the video to start downloading first before playing it.

I have winows vista and it takes a few minutes for my pc to shut down and startup how can i get it to shut down and start up faster

Forget it, it takes what it takes. There is an idea of an external drive, that can be rigged that helps, but It is a waste of resoruces.
Consider using sleep mode, for faster cycling and only shutdown when you actually need to. If this is a laptop, consider hibernate. Both sleep and hibernate focus on faster start ups, but on laptop, if you use sleep and run out of battery, you can loose data that you were working on. ALWAY save and backup.

Speakers Dont work

It might be that ur drivers are bad or maybe ur speakers are shot n the best way is to try n connect the speakers to a different sound source... anyhow as for your codec issue the best bet is a codec pack called Klite... it is the best n plays anything n everything... you can get it here...

http://www.free-codecs.com/K_lite_codec_pack_download.htm

Download the full version n post if it worked...

Right speaker cutting in and out when watching movies and listening to music

plug a pair of head phones in the speaker jackon the computer and play a video or some music.
If the head phones cut out also, you can rule out the speakers being the problem.
If the head phones work properly, its time to get a new pair of speakers.
Now , If the cutting out is caused by the computer , it can be a bunch of things
1. not enough bandwidth in steaming audio or video
2. video driver issues
3. codecs in your players
4. spyware
5. other programs you have running in the background
I would attack the last first, turn of everything but your media player, empty your temporary internet files and cookies, check for any updates or hotfixes for your media player, and check for video driver updates.
Hope this short guide helps you . Please post here again if you need further assistance and please rate the assistance at the end.

I bought a Logitech webcam and the sound won't come though. It states my input level is not high emough but I can't find it to change it please

My understanding is that a webcam is only a webcam not a webcam+mic (mic=microphone for sound to be input) unless your webcam has video and sound capabilities.

1. get a mic
2. if you webcam is supposed to be also a mic, (I have yet to see one of those myself) you should hook up the connector for the microphone (usually a a red trs plug/connector) to your pc.
3. make sure your have run the video/sound wizard of your instant message application to test your video, mic and speakers. (to see, talk and be heard and hear what the others are saying)

are you trying to hear what the other person is saying when having a video conversation?
1. check your speakers are properly connected, powered and turned on.
2. check your speakers (and mic aswell) are not muted (check your speaker icon on the system tray and check your volume controls by doing right and/or left click on the speaker icon on the system tray.
3. make sure your have run the video/sound wizard of your instant message application to test your video, mic and speakers. (to see, talk and be heard and hear what the others are saying)
4. make sure your sound adapter's drivers are installed and your device is working properly (check device manager by going to start>run> type devmgmt.msc the press enter and make sure that under sounds you don't have any ? (no drivers) or ! driver problem for your sound adapter.
