Question about Cateye Fitness Micro Wireless Bicycle Computer

2 Answers

My Cat Eye cycle computer (Strada Wireless CC-RD300W) has stopped registering my speed or tracking my miles. I thought it was a battery issue, because the display began fading out. My son, an avid cyclist, replaced the batteries in both the display and sensor. It worked for a couple of miles, but now is not working again. The display is bright and sharp, but it still doesn't show my speed or mileage. Ideas?

Check to make sure the magnet and sensor are lined up correctly and close enough. That's the first thing I check. If they are aligned and close enough, I check the sensor with a strong magnet to make sure it is actually working. If none of those work, it could be a warranty issue.

It's possible water contamination is the problem. Put the computer in a Ziploc bag of rice for a day and try again. If that does not work probably a replacement is the best option, assuming it is out of warranty.

After installing new battery transmitter does not activate reciever. reciever still tells time etc.

You may need a new battery in the sending unit as well.

Also make sure that the wheel magnet is close enough to the sender to pick up the signal to send.

I changed wheels, now my computer will not pick up the speed or milage.

Are your contacts still at recommended spacing? Have you reprogrammed according to new wheel diameter?

I have a Cat Eye Strada cycling computer model CC-RD200 that I have been using for the last couple of months. This model comes with a cadence sensor (as well as a speed sensor) that I cannot get to work. I...

It sounds like you know what's wrong - distance. Take the magnet in your hand and wave it past the cadence sensor to see if THAT works.

As far as why your crankarm and chainstay are too far apart, well, maybe your bottom bracket is too long or something, but it is mostly beyond the scope of anyone who can't see it to judge. Take it to a bike shop and ask them.

Computer is not picking up wireless signal from sensor. I have tried moving it closer, as well as adjusting the angle of the computer and even replacing sensor battery. Any suggestions on what to do next?

Odometer stops working at 33 mph

This is a very strange problem indeed. I'm guessing you are doing this test by just spinning the wheel, not actually riding. In any case, make sure the sensor itself is not loose. This could be moving from the vibration at higher speeds. Thanks
