Why don't your change your needle, flat side facing to the rear, then make sure that you are threaded correctly. Now turn the handwheel towards you, never away or you will mess up your timing. Maybe go to youtube and watch some of the instruction videos. There should be no reason for the thread not to pick up the thread if you are threaded right, bobbin and top thread.

How to fix time hook on special adition XL5700 the needle not picking up the bobbin thread

CHECK THESE FIRST::
NEW NEEDLE.
MAKE SURE NEEDLE IS INSERTED THE RIGHT DIRECTION. LOOK AT YOUR INSTRUCTION BOOK.
MAKE SURE INSERTED IS TOTALLY INSERTED.
CHECK TO SEE IF THE BOBBIN THREAD IS STUCK. ALSO, ENOUGH LENGTH OF BOBBIN LENGTH EXTENDED TO ALLOW THE NEEDLE TO PULL IT UPWARDS.
MAKE SURE THE BOBBIN THREAD IS INSERTED THE RIGHT DIRECTION AND SET WITH CORRECT TENSION.
CHECK TOP NEEDLE TENSION TO INSURE THERE IS TENSION ENOUGH TO PULL THE BOBBIN THREAD ABOVE THE THROAT.
IF THESE DON'T WORK YOU MAY NEED TO GO TO YOUR LOCAL REPLAIRMAN.

I cant figure out the bobbin part getting thread to come up to the needle please help or how to do the whole bobbin thing

Depending on the brand of machine, you insert your bobbin into the bobbin holder, thread the top part of your machine, including the needle, then turn the wheel on the side of the machine by hand and it will catch the thread that is in the bobbin and it will pull it up through the bobbin hole. Once it is pulled up through the hole, near your needle, you will pull the thread towards the back of the machine and leave it. Then start sewing.

Steps to adjust timing on

1. Lower the pressure foot and hold the top thread while you rotate the handwheel.
2.If that didn't work then turn the hand wheel and monitor the bobbin to see if the top thread was picked up by the sharp thing "hook". It should pull the thread across the top of the bobbin area.
3. Did the thread stick somewhere while the thread was moving across the bobbin. If it did stick then that spot needs to be adjusted a little. This can usually be done by moving the holders away from the bobbin holder just a very, very little.
4. If this didn't work you will need to check the hook for smoothness and a sharp tip.
5 If none of this works you will need to have a repairman time your machine or you can learn how on youtube.

Won't pick up bobbin thread

Did you check the tension? Sometimes when doing lettering or other specialty stitches you would lesson the thread tension which affects the bobbin thread behavior; did you remember to increase it again before switching back to plain sewing? (Though I would still expect it to pick up the bobbin thread... if it's not picking up bobbin thread then I wonder how the loops are being left on the back side of the fabric; it's the tension of the bobbin thread that keeps the top thread from just pulling through. I'm adding this because maybe that's a clue?)

Sewing fine, then heard a couple clunks. Machine stopped picking up the bobbin thread. I have taken it apart cleaned, oiled, new needle.

check to make sure the needle is inserted correctly
turn the bobbin opposite of what it is now
rethread the machine top & bobbin
if none of these suggestions help then the machine needs to be serviced

I got a White 3032 sewing machine for Christmas last year and I couldn't get the bobbin to thread, I exchanged it and the new one does the same thing. Why won't it pick up the bobbin thread?

Have you got the bobbin in the right way ? Is the bobbin thread in tension? Turn flywheel towards you while holding the tail of the top thread, turn through one rotation so needle goes down into rotary hook then up again to top position. Now pull thread tail and bobbin thread should come up through needle plate in a loop. Draw the rest of bobbin tail up to top. Can you get a lesson from sm retailer? They should give you a basic demo at least. Consider buying a reference book on the sewing machine such as singer sewing machine book or similar. Sewing is a skill best learnt in classes if you can.
