Question about RCA DRC620N Portable DVD Player
No logo (after turning on with no dvd) or picture (with dvd) but sound works. I was on a trip in the car (a 2008 Toyota Prius) and it just stopped working. All that shows is a white, blank screen. What happened, and is it worth fixing?
Inside your dvd player there is a flat flexible cable running from the dvd player to the lcd screen. I opened mine up, and saw that the opening and closing of the lcd screen has caused this cable to pinch. I didn't check for continuity of each little wire in the cable (there's about 20 of them), but I suspect that this is where the problem is. In a design where we are forced to flex and bend this cable each time we open up the dvd player, I guess we shouldn't be surprised that the cable eventually gives out. Maybe replacing the cable would work, but I just use mine as a DVD player in my kids room now, and send the output to the TV.
