Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines

1 Answer

Cycle finished. Red light indicating door was locked was on, yet the door easily opened. Now, none of the functions work. I cannot get the 'control on' button to work- none of the other functions light up.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

First try to reset the controls by pressing the END OF CYCLE button and hold it for 15 seconds. If the problem returns then check the door latch switch assembly and blow some air on that so that if dirt is stopping it from working it works again. If the problem returns then replacing the door lock assembly is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

What would make a red warning light shaped like a car with front doors open appear with loud alarm?

This indicates a door is ajar while moving (I think) and if none are, safety switch or door itself may be misadjusted.

The machine door wont open after it finish the wash cycle

There should be a LOCK ICON with an LED to tell you whether the Front Load door is locked or unlocked.

If the machine door wont open after the wash cycle, the dryer function or the drainage function hasnt completed.

What you can try is just choose the dryer function after the completed wash cycle if the problem arises again.

IF that doesnt work, then look at bottom of the machine; there should be a flap present which you generally open up to get to the manual drainage valve.. you just pull that open and drain any leftover water .. After the water recedes.. the LOCK icon should be off and you can then open the front load door

My Electrolux ewf1090 front loader door wont open

Turn the power off and leave for 5-10 minutes then turn on. This should release the door lock the problem could be the pump drain filter is blocked clean this and it should resolve future problems.

Hotpoint aquarius washer dryer wd63 1100 spin - my fuse went just as i was switching the machine on - so the door locked and wont open - changed the fuse, door was still locked so thought id let the wash...

Try buttons "dry" & "spin" together for a few seconds. This is the child lock display.

Or press "end of cycle" for over 3 seconds.

Or press "options & select" till the light goes off.

Works for other machines..............And please rate me if helped

Red light stays lite and nothing works

Probably the red light indicates your drying cycle, and it has not completed it. Close the door and let it finish.
