Panasonic DMC TZ25 compact camera - System Error (Focus)
- Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera (suggested by Andrea Lock, above). I actually had to try this several times as camera was refusing to reset properly, but after a few goes, lens retracted and camera began to work again. Thanks Andrea.
If you say that the camera was making a grinding sound before it quit working the grinding noise should have been looked at then, cameras do not make grinding sounds if they are working properly. the sound is the drive unit going bad and that is why you are now getting the focus error because the drive unit has quit working completely !!!! It is now time for the shop.
I have this problem also with Fuji Z90 model. Problem is fixed and focus now working ok. Camera is fall down and after when camera was started giving sound click click from focus big motor and error on screen Focus error Focus ( lens ) was open ( small cover on top bellow sticker ) Small "snail" gear is taked out . Two sliding segment adjusted
for focus ( upper full up and lower full down - beware about spring inside below this focus pins )and snail is inserted back. Camera started and focus start
working. I need to make small adjustment . Reason when camera is
started picture is not clear and before using camera i need to do full
zoom in and back zoom out. After this picture is crystal clear and all
working ok.
Hi
Unfortunately you have a lens unit defective and finding part would be hard. Some case the focus unit can be repairable. But always the matter is the cost. I would like to help. Does focus error constantly come out every time when you power on or some time? Any sand damaged? Would you provide more informaiton about the problem from power on and the sequence to error comes out.
Thanks and kindly
hi...The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage. thank u rate me!!!
Had "FOCUS ERROR" appear on my Finepix S9500. The lens seemed to be stuck at the extremity of focus range. I resorted to hitting the camera on a table while turning it off (because this is when it sounded as though the focus motor was trying to move the lens back). Guess what? It worked!!!!!
I also had this problem. When starting the focus error alert came. Trying to move the focus button also triggered this. When I turned it off, the lens did not pull back. After being close to trowing it away, I used a little bit more force than before and turned the lens manually. I heard a click, and than it worked again. PS: Follow this tip on your own risk.....
