To start your computer in safe mode, restart your PC and right before you see the "Windows XP" or "Windows Vista" loading screen (with the scrolling progress bar in the lower portion), press F8. (If you see this screen, then it is too late, you will need to restart again!). Pressing F8 before this screen will bring up the screen with a whole bunch of options. One of them will be "Safe mode with Networking", or just "Safe mode", select that, then the computer will load with no enhancments (and that means that your display resolution will be low).

Hi!

If you're starting up your computer, press F8 before the Windows logo appears and select "Start Windows Normally".

If you need to exit it whilst inside of Safe Mode (booted into Windows), follow the instructions below:

Clicking on any web site, I will be re-directed somewhere else and sometimes it will bring an error that I don't have an internet connection when I know I do. Could this a netgear wireless router issue or...

Hi, I can suggest you to try going online using your neighbour's wireless connection. So you can easily find out whether its the issue with the internet service provider or anything wrong with the browser.

However please try going online in safe mode with networking.

Turn on your computer and start tapping the key "F8". You will get screen that says safe mode, safe mode with networking. Use your down arrow key and highlight the "safe mode with networking" , then hit enter. It'll take you to the safe mode (where few features in the normal mode will be disabled). Here try going online, If you don face the issue here it could be a virus thats blocking.

Please vote this solution if you think this might help others:) Thank you

Hi

Thank you for your query

I know you have tried entering safe mode, however please try this method to see if you can get in

Please try the following

1) Start Laptop
2) Continuously press the F8 key until a startup menu is repsented
3) Choose safe mode from the menu
4) Once safe mode has loaded up click on Start>Programs>Accesories>System Tools>System Restore
5) From system restore choose 'restore my computer to an earlier time'
6) From the calender presented please select a dat in bold lettering back a few weeks before this fault was seen
7) Choose the date and click next..............follow the instructions through

If the above fails and you still cant get in, then unfortunatley you will need to do a full reformat

Safe mode

You can also force the system into safe mode. You click on startup and type in msconfig. Click the general tab and select diags and the system will reboot to safe mode. Change it back to normal to get your system out of safe mode.

Try starting your computer in safe mode and do a virus scan once in safe mode. While in safe mode Windows only loads the basic devices to run your computer and usually viruses are not loaded untill windows starts in regular mode. Don't panic once you are in safe mode and your screen looks all grainy, this is normal.
  1. Restart your computer and press F8 as soon as you turn it on.
  2. Click the "safe mode with networking" option
  3. Update your antivirus
  4. Do a full system scan
  5. Restart your computer and hope for the best.
If that doesn't work, than reinstall windows.
If you need further assistance, let me know.

Safe mode

Hi there, Try tapping F8 on boot to access the boot menu select "start windows normal". if it will not let you boot in to safemode with cmd promt and run "chkdsk /f" to check for bad sectors and repair othere HD issues. Also try "Last known Configuration" as a last ditch effort before moving on to System restore. IF system restore options fail to work let me know and we can do a system restore and restore your system to an earlier time through the cmd prompt. Good luck and i hope this helps
