Hello kadir..... since it is brand new, the best solution is to return it to the store. If you work on it yourself, you will void the warranty. If you return it, they will either just give you a new one or send this faulty one in for repair. ... That said, the one thing you can do without voiding the warranty, and assumming that it will turn on now but as you state that it still shows an empty battery, is this.

Turn it on, go into the menu and locate the reset function. Reset it. Now check to see if it still shows an empty battery. If it does, return it as it must have an internal fault. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

It's possibe that you have oxidation on the battery contacts inside the camera. Use a qtip or acohol or a pencil eraser to clean them. Here is a web blog that talks about power problems with digital cameras and may help you:
http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/11/simple-fix-for-dead-cameras-that-wont.html
You also might contact Nikon and see if they know what might be going on. Here's their support site:

Good luck, and hope this helps you.

2003 Chevy S10 had fuel pump replaced. When fuel gauge shows slightly below half, the gauge falls to empty and low fuel lights blinks. What could be causing this?

hi,

sounds like the sending unit rheostat(sending unit) has a bad contact or break in the resistance wire. inside the tank theres a float attached to an arm that goes to a small rheostat, like a volume control on a stereo. the rheostat is sending a scratchy signal or no signal to the computer and your getting these readings. that part is inside the gas tank, the part usually comes integrated with the fuel pump. the gas tank has to be lowered to fix it.

No battery status in the screen of Garmin 255. I just bought a new Garmin 255, before charging, it can not on, meaning, the battrey is empty, that is fine. Pluging the car charger, the unit can turn...

The battery status only shows up when the satnav is disconnected from the charger. Your first charge should be a continuous charge until the battery is full. This can be done by connecting it to your computer for 8 hours approximately or 4 hours to your car cigarette lighter socket or 4 hours to an, optional extra, mains charger.

Nikon d700 error message

Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the lens with alchoho and a cotton swab? The DX lens will have to tell the camera that it's not a full frame lens, and that happens through those contacts.

Post a comment if that won't work and we can go into more troubleshooting.

BATTERY SHOWS EMPTY WHEN TRY TO TAKE PICTURE

if its internal and have to charge it with a charger then you need to change the battery. i would recommend taking it to a camera shop and having it evaluated its well worth the evaluation trust me it might be something simple as just getting a new battery to a loose connection inside. Worse case you might have a bad indicator that needsto be fixed.

My new Nikon D700 is loading double images...two images of the same on the memory card...it takes up twice the space and i have to selct every other picture when uploading them into my Mac.

Sounds like you have it set on Bracketing. Go into your menu setting and turn off Bracketing.

Or you might be on NEF and JPG mode, taking a NEF and a JPG with each shot. Review the read-out on the top of the camera to see if it shows that. It it does go to QUAL on top of camera and change the setting to show one image, either NEF (RAW) or JPG.

One of those should fix ya.

Wont turn on

Well have you tried putting brand new fresh batt's in the unit? If they are rechargeable they may have simply discharged or if "normal" batt's they may just have gone flat.

Battery problems

Check the battery contacts inside the camera. Use a strong light, and if you see corrosion (black or greenish areas) on the contacts, rub them lightly with a pencil eraser until they are shiny.
