Question about Magic Chef Microwave Ovens

1 Answer

My husband was in the process of making christmas cookies. It called for melting chocolate. I purchased a large Hershey candy bar. He proceeded to break it up into pieces and placed it on a glass dish. He must have placed the unit on high for too long of a time. It started to smoke. and when he check the chocolate it smelled burnt and turned to sugar. Now after cleaning the enterior and getting rid of the smoked smell. There is a banging noise when using it. Did something happen to the performance of the microwave. It heats fine, except for the noise. TY

Please could I have Ice cream recipes Thank you thank you

Ingredients:
5 egg yolks,
1 pint (500ml) milk,
1/2 pint (250ml) double/heavy cream,
2 oz (50g) sugar,
150g (6 oz) milk chocolate cut into small squares

Create a custard base and at the point where you remove the saucepan from the heat, carefully drop in the squares of real chocolate. Stir to allow to melt and then leave the custard to cool. Then chill the custard until it's really cold. Once chilled, mix until slushy. Add the cream (whipped) and make sure it mixes in well. Transfer the mixture in an ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Instead of using wafers, you can make your own chocolate chip cookies- they make great ice cream sandwiches.
Thank u and if u want more recipes contact me . (^ _^)

I am looking for the recipe for the chocolate fountain. What is the ratio of chocolate chips to oil?

You can buy special chocolate fountain chocolate to use, or you can just use standard milk / dark chocolate chips and add 1/2 a cup of good vegetable or coconut oil for every pound (16 Oz) of chocolate.

There are many different variations on the recipe and you can Google CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN RECIPE to get an idea of the many different options which include adding cream or liqueur.

Basically you just want to melt your chocolate on the stove in a double boiler if possible.
If you use a microwave, then carefully heat only on low power and stir after every minute.

Pour the melted chocolate into the fountain base and turn on the fountain for a few minutes. Then shut it off for a minute to allow it to vent any air and restart.

You can always add a little more oil to the recipe if the chocolate does not flow properly.

Good luck and enjoy.

I would call customer service at Bed Bath & Beyond and ask for replacement parts. You might have to bring in your receipt. They should have no problem replacing the missing items, and if Bed Bath & Beyond doesn't have the items, they could most likely call the company for you.

I have a GE microwave that is barely a year old. Recently, my husband was heating up some melting chocolate and white sparks started flying within the microwave. When we opened it, all we saw was that some...

Very difficult to explain briefly as microwaves are truly complex.
You will almost certainly have 2 problems. 1)You need to carefully sandpaper the area where the paint is peeling off and "only paint with appliance paint as this does not have lead in it and 2)The sparks are due to a variety of things, but the most obvious, replace your main capacitor and HV diode. This combination is the normal culprit for arching. If it continues after that, the Magnatron needs replacement as well (Unfortunately, for first time diagnosis, electrical testing equiptment is needed.)

Our MT1510W micro shuts off by itself and then turns back on later whenever we start large project like Xmas candy, Why and how do I fix it or should I return to dealer?

This problem is usually caused by a blocked air vent, a clogged filter, a failed or failing internal cooling fan, or a failed or failing magnetron.

If you purchased it less than 30 days ago, I would recommend that you return it or exchange it.

If it's over 30 days but less than one year (or whatever the warranty is as stated in your owner's manual) then you would need to contact Daewoo to find their nearest authorized servicer.

You can visit Daewoo online or call them at 877-393-7823 or 973-249-3448 to find your nearest authorized service center.

I have been trying to melt candy wafers for making candy molds. I melt at 50% power but I can never get it fully melted so it can be poured. I have tried 80%, 90% and 100%

please stop this silly game, its going to blow up your microwave in no time at all candy is darn nearly all suger and very little water in it,dont keep running your microwave like this its like runing it with nothing inside of it, it will age the megotron and it will then not work at all,,
a pricy mistake to make, just stick them in the oven,,,gas one that is?
or if your brave,,,, try a blow lamp, that works very well if your not heavy handed with the flame,,,,but if you keep on punishing your microwave like this its going to go with a big bang on you prity soon

Burn at bottom of microwave

First try cleaning the burned mark off. Dip a scrubber in lemon juice and sprinkle salt on it; this is also great for burned coffee pots. The smell can be gotten rid of this way: Boil lemon peel in water, then put the water in a spray bottle. Not only will it make your microwave smell fresh but the lemon oil will make it easier to clean. If it still smells of burning rubber, take the back off and inspect the wiring. IF you see burned wiring, please do yourself a favor and replace the microwave!

Microwaves work by making the molecules in food get "excited"-they move more-meaning, if there IS rubber burning, then there will be minute molecules of rubber in your food, which is BAD for your immune system. If it's just burned chocolate, though, it is harmless unless you are allergic.
