Question about Kenmore 63793 Convection / Microwave Oven

Microwave oven I have a Kenmore microwave oven model #721.80513600 that is not working. My wife accidentally ran it for approximately 14 min without anything inside. Is there any repair I can make? The oven currently shows no power.

    The outlet had power, I checked the fuse which is white with a single black line in the center other than the metal connections on the ends. Need more solution help.

    Does the outlet have power that it is plugged into? If not, check the circuit breaker, if it does, then remove the outer panel of the microwave (screws on the backside) and find the fuse and see if it looks black, if it does, then replace, if not, then let me know.

    Ran for two seconds and sparked now has no power

Due to overheating if not the fuse then the --- ic-- must have gone short. check with the meter and find the short track.and then replace that particular ic which is not supporting.and your oven will work properly.

    have you tried jumping a wire from the fuse connections and also does it have power when you open the door? I would assume no light comes on. IF connecting the wire from the fuse connection ends doesn't work, then you have a bigger problem

    Usually,
    when your microwave oven doesn't work it all, the internal fuse
    (thermal fuse) is blown. This fuse protects both you and the oven. When
    it blows, you need to have a qualified appliance repair technician
    replace it.




    Door switch

    If
    the fuse isn't the problem, check the door hooks and the door-release
    button. When these are broken, the door switch doesn't activate, so the
    oven can't work.

Chances are the thermal fuse is gone that protects the magnetron. Unplug microwave, remove top, [several screws] look over to the keypad and slightly to the left, you should see round fuse mounted on the inner chassis at the top, change with the same size and rating, if all goes well the microwave oven should function.

Oven accidentally operated without any contents and cut out with a smell of burning. Subsequently the oven only runs for approximately 22 seconds before stopping. Any ideas?
It will require a new magnetron and possibly power supply for it. The magnetron will destroy itself if it has nowhere for the energy to go.

Model 1515B- - - - not sure if wife ran it accidently without anything inside, however, it is dead. No power indicated. Unit doesn't have its own circuit. No breakers were thrown. ????
may have poped the fuses inside it,, but there not the normal type of fuse,,,

You need to change the cavity thermostat. The unit got too hot and blew the cavity thermostat. If this is a vent-a-hood model, it will be up under the vent housing at the top (must drop microwave to change) and if built-in, it will be on the left side under the outer cover. Just remove the screws from the back and sides and right along the edge along the bottom sides. Will have 2 wires going to it from each side. Just replace thermostat and reattach molex plugs. Then retest. Should be fine after that.

HI, there is a inline fuse located inside the microwave ion the power supply board. check for continuity. replace the fuse if necessary. if the fuse is OK, replace the power supply board.

Microwave glass tray is broken. It is discontinued.
Yes you will not hurt anthing by not putting on the bottom. One substitution that works extremely well is to find you a plate like they use in regular ovens or anything that is microwavable of that sort. Sears has an excellent selection of microwavable cookware and there is nothing in the rule book that say you canno find you a piece to match the bottom of your microwave. It works either way. Due to running empty, the magnetron has overheated and the thermal cutout also called a (TCO or thermal fuse) or thermostat (if so equipped) on the magnetron has blown.

After 15 minutes of such stress, I would suspect the magnetron is gone, too, unless the thermostat / TCO stopped it in time.
