AS you state the "device is working properly" so it must be something else. Try playing a music CD and if the music looks as if it is playing, it probably is and there is a mechanical problem with the headphone socket or the volume is not activated. Check the Mixer Console by r/hand mouse click the loudspeaker icon and select Volume mixer. Hope that fixes it
you need to goto "Device Manager" to verify plug and play sees the audio hardware.
you can right click on "My Computer" and select "manage"
From the next screen you will see "Device Manager"
there will be a selection called "Sound,Video and Game controllers"
Verify the status box saids "Device is working properly"
I will assume somewhere in this section, you will see an error... and you will need to goto ACER's website to get drivers...
If it all looks good. you need to check your "sounds and audio Devices" in Control Panel...
make sure your usb driver is working properly (plug something else in the drive) if not... reinstall the driver, if it does work, make sure your mp3 player doesnt require software. also ive noticed that some mp3 players are just that... MP3 PLAYERS.. some wont play wma or other file formats.. hope this helps
Try out with few steps as follws:
Lets start from Basic steps.
1. Try if the Volume setting are proper in the volume properties.
2. open device manager and see if there is a bang on it.,
3. If there is some "Exclamation" mark OR ""Question Mark" next to your audio device name, in the device manager, Update your Audio Driver...
Hope that works...
sorry for the late reply. im using windows. im quite sure that there's no virus involved with the distortion of my sound. this is what happened.
1. im surfing the net while listening to music(full volume) 2.)then suddenly the sound gets a bit distorted(jumps, skips) 3.)then everything hangs up which forced me to reboot 4.)the windows loading screen became too long(like 5mins) before it takes me to the main desktop(start up programs loads like 48 years also). 5.)when i play music ,the sound is very much(like alien,"rrrrrrr")
i tried reinstalling the drivers but nothing was fixed. i've even tried Regcure.
i just formatted my notebook and voila its back to normal. i dunno but i think playing loud music using laptop, or in my case notebook speakers would cause this problem. im using external speakers now and i've got no problems. i just hope that there would be a fix to this problem so that i wont have to reformat if the problem occurs again
Windows Media Player cannot play several files in the playlist. This might be caused by one or more problems.
To find information about the specific problems, click the Now Playing tab, and then click the blue or red icon next to each file in the List pane.
In some cases, you might encounter this error message if there is a problem with your sound device, such as a sound card or sound controller. For example:
Your sound device requires an updated driver. To determine if an updated driver is available, see Windows Update or see the sound device manufacturer's Web site.
Your sound device is not functioning properly. To troubleshoot the problem, see Windows Help and Support or refer to your sound device's documentation.
You do not have a sound device installed on your computer. Install a sound device, and then try to play the file again
so you are saying that there is no music. ok. you might need to get a new speaker. or there is a bad connection. try plugging head phones into the jack of the psp. if u can hear music just fine then its your speaker or a bad connection. if you still cant hear music. then you need a new sound board.
