I recommend replacing the door latch. It is a fairly common problem. You can get one at repairclinic.com or partselect.com

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

This sounds very much like the belt is slipping. Belts are not expensive- sorry I do not know how much yours would cost- and are easy to be changed by a competent person.

REMOVE POWER FROM THE MACHINE AND REMOVE THE BACK.

The motor support bolts should be loosened and the old belt removed. Often putting the new belt on is a bit of a struggle, even with the motor 'loose', because it is new and smaller!
Once on it should be tensioned by pulling the motor against the belt firmly- but not over tight- and the motor support bolts tightened.
ON NO ACCOUNT SHOULD ANY FORM OF LEVERAGE BE USED TO TENSION THE BELT. THAT COULD LEAD TO DAMAGE TO THE BELT, MOTOR AND BEARINGS- EXPENSIVE!
If it turns out to be the motor, it is false economy to just have the brushes changed. Experience of others is that the brushes may only last months unless, that is, the motor is totally refurbished.

Now- to drain the water out you could follow the relevant parts of my (generic/standard) notes-
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is normally behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hope this is your problem solved.
Good luck,
John C

Door won't open

if you can still see water in the machine, check the drain hose. If there is no blockage or kink, try to drain machine by lowering the drain hose below the machine level. Once the water is gone, door lock should release.

Moved the machine, put in the locking bolts , when i did the first load it stopped after the first cycle ...now its full of water and washing and i cant open the door?

Try laying the drain hose down to floor level, and let the water drain out into a bucket or similar.
You should then be able to open the door.
If you can't, then it will have to be released from inside the washer, this means removing the top cover to gain access to the door lock.
Hope this helps..

How do you drain the Ariston GL4

is there a pet **** on the bottom under a plastic cap? you might have to take the cover off and I would recomend putting some boiler drains in the line for future draining,, all units of water heaters have drains and looking at the picture I see something sticking down on the bottom see if thats not the drain

Door Stuck after wash completed

You will have remove top cover, and release door latch from inside the front, with a screw driver pushing against the latch to open door.
It does mean that you probably have a faulty door lock, or broken door handle.
Please rate my fixya solution.
Thanks
