The screen picture is not full size. I have significant black borders around the picture. I am using a universal remote from Genesis and can't find any menu item to fix the problem?!? Thanks for your help.

    ry ... I didn't expand the "more comments" button. I just looked at your imageshack photo and when I push "menu" my screen looks nothing like this at all?!? What I get looks identical to the "guide" information?!? Perhaps I need to push something on my receiver?!? I'm going out for several hours now and will respond when I return. Thankjs! Catherien

Do you see a format or Aspect button the remote? If yes then keep pressing the button till you get full screen. It will toggle the set through various screen sizes and one of them should give you a full screen image.

    In that case can you please get me an image of the remote that you are using so that I can see if there is an alternate button to perform this function? You can upload the image to imageshack.us and get me the link.

    The image is too small even when fully zoomed. I can hardly see whats on the buttons.

    Ok. It looks like there is no button on the remote that can handle the aspect ratio function. Press Menu->Select the video option and tell me what all options you see under it.

    when you hit menu, you should see an option menu in it.Its below the time menu.I see it in the manual as well.

    No its not necessary to push anything on the receiver. If you cannot see anything like that then I am afraid you are gonna have to get the original remote from LG for this tv. Call them at 1 (800) 243-0000 and follow their instructions to order it. Once you get it, let me know and I will help you resolve this issue.

If you are using cable TV there a button on the remote "*" which zoom in and out. You can also check with your cable company in case you have HD TV and not using a HD box.

No.Some u can't changes the tv picture on the screen sizes,because depending the bandwith of ur tv are recieving.Most u can changes the tv on picture to wider screen or to fit the whole tv screen.U have the tv original remote wright?Yes.Look a button that said like Viewmode,Aspect Ratio,Picture sizes,Zoomming.Pushes one of these name buttons u will able to changes tv on screen pictures sizes.

Black border with some channels
Hi,
if you mean the left and right sides of screen, look for a button on remote might be labeled several things, like picture size, aspect etc.. the borders pop up when you go to a non high def channel. some chs put borders all around the picture in those cases you won't be able to get rid of those.

The picture is not "full" screen. It's as if there's a black border around it. How do I fix this?
I have a 50" rear projection mitsubishi. These are not "widescreen" tvs and some programs come out like that so as not to cut out any picture. Mine will adjust to utilize the entire screen though. Go to "menu" and check your settings for the screen size because they are probably set wrong--check all video settings.

Black border all around picture
is there a button labeled picture? if so press it (you might have to press it twice before it steps to a new aspect ratio, then once for every different aspect ratio until you get the one you like.
