You can use the windows key to open the start menu, then use your arrow keys to hightight turn off your computer, hit the enter key, use your arrow keys to highlight restart and hit your enter key This will restart your computer and hopefully, unlock your mouse.

Let me know if this solution works for you. If all else fails, it is acceptable to push the power button until the computer turns off, then hit it again the turn the computer back on. This is not the normally acceptable procedure for shutting windows down, but in this case, it can be done without any negative repercussions.

Can I use a wireless mouse with my desk top computer that is not wireless?

A wireless mouse uses either a USB connection or a PS2 connection for the receiver. As long as you have a free USB or PS2 slot you should be able to use a wireless mouse.

Sounds as though you have a backlight issue. How old is the monitor?
The keyhole with the lock sign is for a security lock to lock the monitor to a desk so it cannot be stolen.

How to connect cordless mouse and cordless key board cordless desk top EX 1oo to desk top computer

Make sure you have fresh batteries in the mouse and keyboard:

Plug your transmitter unit into an USB port, push the connect button on the TX, then push in on the connect button on the mouse and the keyboard. Also, install the cd that came with the KB/Mouse, to gain access to the features.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response. Happy Holy days!

Thanks, Joe

Where do hook up wireless. I have dell desk top.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Almost always, wireless mouse makes use of the USB port to connect its base/receiver. Depending on the exact model of the Dell desktop, there would normally be USB ports at the rear of the computer. Some others have 2 USB ports at the front or side.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Desk top is missing and nothing happens when I right clck the mouse. Task manager will come up with ctrl-t-del what can I do?

Press the [F5] key to "refresh" the desktop.
Your user profile may have changed. Are you using the same user name as before?

Try this:
1. In the Task Manager, find "explorer.exe" in the [Processes] tab.
2. [End Process]
3. Yes, [End process]
4. Now, select [New] [New Task (Run)]
5 Type: explorer.exe
6. Your familiar desktop Icons will appear
7. You may not have to do this again, but remember the steps.

Mouse V450 shipped with new Dell Desk top does not work reliably

It should be good up to 30 feet, whatever the setup. You might try plugging the send/receiver into a front port to see if that helps.

I usually open Device Manager, open each USB device and set the power to stay on, (not "turn off this device to save power"). That way, sleep mode won't cause you to lose contact with the mouse. Or just disable sleep mode.
