Question about RCA RTD316Wi Theater System

Open Question

Issue - Sound cuts out on movies (everything else is fine). NOTE: I'm using a PS3 to play movies on. Connections - RCA plugs out from TV to Aux In on AV. HDMI out from PS3 to TV. (Optical cable out from PS3 to Optical setting on AV, both with RCA plugs in and out). I've tried running an Optical cable from the PS3 out to the Optical in on the AV. However, I can never get sound from this source. The only alternative so far is using the RCA plugs out from the TV to the Aux In on the AV. This works fine for television, but when watching a movie using the PS3, the sound cuts in and out. It's more pronounced during speaking passages. During music and action scenes it's not as noticible.

SOURCE: I have a new 52"

I have the same situation....what I have done is connected my Blue ray to the TV via the HDMI connection and the audio to the RTDVD1 via an Optical cable. I find this is the best connection and sound reproduction so far. The input of the RTDVD is the SAT/Optical input and then switch the source to SAT/OPT. You will have to make adjustments in the BlueRay player's audio setup to enable the 5.1 DB digital sound etc.

SOURCE: I have an RCA home theatre...model rt2910. I have

HDMI is the same, if not better quality than Optical audio. The receiver will not recognize a video input from one source, and an optical audio input from another. It must be all optical into the receiver and HDMI into the TV for this to work, or all HDMI into the receiver. Let me know if this works with a thumbs up =]
Either A. All HDMI into Receiver B. Optical into the Receiver, HDMI into the TV

I can not get my RCA Blu Ray home theater to play what comes through on regular tv. It plays a dvd and will also play when using netflix from my ps3. I do not have any sort of cable box. My tv is a Sa

Gotta find an audio output from the TV and run it to aux input on the home theatre, select the aux function and it should work, if your tv has no audio out see if it has a headphone jack you can use as an audio out, can get a cable with 3.5mm headphone jack one 1 end and rCA red/white on the other, becareful when doin this as the audio output level froma headphone jack maybe controlled by the tV's volume itself. keep tV volume low and use the home theatre volume if your doing it that way

I am having issues with my RCA Scenium D52W135D (playstation 3 connection). Recently, I have been having a very specific problem with this combo. I have it connected using HDMI to a Pioneer receiver...

Had the same problem. With mine the other day you probably moved your Playstation 3 too another tv and set your 1080i,720,480 to high deaf on settings in Playstation. You have to change them back to automatic that TV says HDTV but it only plays Playstation 3 on 480 checked in settings of Playstation. Played mine for 4 years on that TV moved and got a 3d wifi then dad got him one And was going to trash that RCA but I told him I would take it for now too keep from buying another TV at this time got it in my new home wouldn't play video but it. would sound tried different cables but still now change. But remembered i changed all of my settings over when I got 3D TV. Playstation 3 hadn't been on know other TV. Since I owned it but that RCA now won't work then came to me last night and playing it on both TVs but you have to change the settings on it before moving it or you cant see the screen to fix it do that guarantee it will fix it. Like you said everything else works PS 1,PS 2,DVD, cable, but PS 3 won't its the settings in theme, and audio.

Use the red and white looking audio outs on your TV next to your yellow video out they are together (RED, WHITE, YELLOW). These are known as RCA jacks. Find a RCA wire and connect it to the AUX input of your receiver and the output of your TV. Turn your receiver to AUX mode and it should work.

The system plays fine when playing advd but how do i get tv sound through the system

Hello

This is only some rough guidlines you can follow, as i have not worked with this spesific player before.

You need to connect a RCA cable from the tv(Sound) output. Connect the other end of the RCA cable to the AUX input on your Sony system. Now, all you need to do is to change the input setting on the sony system to AUX, you will be able to hear the TV trough the system.

the RCA cables look like this:

c3fec2a.jpg

The coulor is of no matter, it is only coloured to ease the use. The RCA connector points on your TV will have the same colour. Remember to plug in the RCA cables into te sound output on the TV and into the AUX input on the Sony player.

Really hope this can be of help.

Kind regards
Andrea

PS3 screen flash / sound cut-out

The PS3 has an issue with what's called the "HDMI handshake" between the PS3 and the TV. The PS3 does not even realise that this is happening. What you might try to do is turn the system on, play a game, and when the flashing and no sound occurs, unplug the HDMI cable from your PS3, wait a few seconds and plug it back in. This may resolve your issue. If it doesn't work, try component cables, there is no known issue with this problem occuring with this type of connection. Good luck!

Very low sound when playing a movie.

You have to let the PS3 automaticly check sound after setting up HDMI. Redo the Video setup and let it do everything automaticly. Might check audio settings on the tv its self.

No surround sound from my PS3 through the Onkyo 5100. Video OK

Unfortunately only the higher end Onkyo Reciever pass audio over HDMI for sound. 605,705,805,905 exc. Your reciever will carry Video over HDMI but you will need a digital optical cable for sound.

thanks.
