You need to repair or replace the socket. A person good with a soldering iron will be able to fix it I'm sure.
Hope that helps.

Can' hook up the cable cause internal cable broke

If the coax fitting is damaged or broke off you can with a box connect via the rear jacks---most boxes have rear av or component outputs for this.

This bypasses the coax input---just hook up and in menu select that input (they are numbered and numbers on back indicate what number each is).

Let me know if you have questions or a comment.

I have purchased Samsung 550 - series L5 - I don't seem to be able to hook up the VCR to it to record. I have cable on it and I would like to be enable to record programs. Television ask if I want to...

You don't record from TV, you record from cable so cable needs to be hooked up to input on VCR.
If you don't use cable box you would hook cable to VCR then out of VCR to TV. If you use cable box then you need to connect Video and Audio outputs on cable box to Video and Audio inputs on VCR and switch input of VCR to Line input.

How do I replace the cable connection?

You have two choices--either have the tuner removed and repaired--a new coax fitting installed OR:

If you have Cable, Direct TV, SAT, etc--you can route the signal into one of the audio and video inputs on the back of the set and bypass the tuner connection totally.

You can even use a old VCR---it does not have to be able to play tapes--just hook it to one of the Video and audio inputs and use it or a box to change channels

Repairing the tuner or replacing it may be very expensive--going into one of the inputs could only cost you the need to rent a box if you have cable etc.

Trying to connect cable box....

You should be able to pick any open audio device unless it says pre-amp only. If your manual shows a connection for a CD player or similar device it should support the cable box.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa

Go video model dv-241 hook up to make vhs to work

There are a fews ways of accomplishing this.
It sounds like you may reversed your cable connections. Lets try these steps.

On the back of your cable box and your Go video VCR/DVD there are two coxial connections an (OUT) and an (IN):

Step 1. Connect the coxial cable from Comcast to the (IN) connection on the back of the cable box.
Step 2. Connect one end of a spare coxial cable to the (OUT) connection on the back of the cable box.
Step 3. Connect the other end to the (IN) connection on the back of your GO Video box..
Step 4. Connect one end of another spare coxial cable to the (OUT) connection on the back of your Go Video Box.
Step 5. Connect the other end of the Coxial cable to the back of your TV.

I hope that you find this solution helpful.

Set up

The specs I am reading online are saying that it has digital coax connection. If your hooking up hd cable or hd satellite box some of those have a digital coax output on them. If your hd cable/satellite box only has optical out the system you have says it comes with a optical to coax converter which is pretty cool. So you should definately be able to hook up that sound system to your cable/sat box digitally for best sound. The only other way would be to run stereo red, white cables from your cable/sat box to your stereo as a last resort.

The cable connector broke off the back of the tv

If you need to hook up to the barrel connector for cable or sat. you can use a converter box(Radio Shack) or VCR which both have a cable connection and then send it out component or Svideo.
