How to remove safely plastic casing on Krups XP9000

Remove book holder at back by pulling it off by hand. Undo the screws visible at the back cover, there's about 4 or 5 or so there. Unclip that centre back panel now screws are out. Remove clear beans cover, remove water tank, lift up the lid to drop grounds direct to brew chamber. Both side lids in open position. Now firmly grip the top cover and try and slide it directly backwards. If it is stuck a firm thump against the front side of the cavity you removed the water tank from while still pulling the top cover backwards will free it up. The sides lift directly upwards to get them off. When replacing the water tank side panel you need the front door open to clear a little spring leg.

Fluidmaster instructions

Turn off water at valve. Drain tank. Remove fill line that goes to bottom of tank. Remove large nut from underneath tank holding in old fill/float valve assembly. Clean area around hole in tank above and below. Get large black washer from kit put onto bottom of fluid-master pipe (lip side down). Place fluid-master into hole from top of tank to check height. Top of fluid-master valve should be even or just a bit below top of tank. To adjust hold head of fluid-master and turn pipe ccw to lengthen, cw to shorten. Once adjusted put into tank. Using large flat nut in kit tighten to tank, making sure its centered in the hole, no part of the float touching the sides of the tank, and that the small nipple on the side where the small black hose will attach is facing towards the overflow pipe. Make it nice and tight, but don\'t break it.Then re attach water supply line you removed earlier, hand tight only. Place pipe clip onto top of overflow pipe (funny looking plastic clip with metal piece attached). Attach small black hose to fill valve nipple on side of valve, other side to funny clip. You may need to cut it shorter so it doesn\'t kink. Tun on water and adjust float if required. Level should be 1/2" below top of overflow pipe.

How do i turn the pressure in my hwc down

There should be ;a removable panel on the side of the tank, usually attached with 2 screws (top and bottom). Open the circuit breaker that operates the water heater, remove that cover and there is normally some insulation that comes out and a plastic cover insulating all the wire connections. The plastic cover may allow you to access the temperature adjustment or you may have to slip off the cover to get to it. Some electric units have double heat elements, in which case there are two of the panels on the side of the tank with nearly identical wiring inside and separate temperature adjustments. Reducing the water temperature setting for the tank will reduce the pressure in the tank, as higher temperatures result in greater expansion of the water in the tank.

Tank to bowl leaks

Turn water supply line of to toilet. Flush and hold handle down to drain water from tank. Take lid of tank off and use a towel to soak up the rest of the water inside tank. Remove nuts on bottom of Tank bolts. Lift off and lay down on its side. Remove the rubber or sponge type gasket that is on bottom of the tank that covers the nut from standpipe assembly. Buy new gasket and install back on bottom of tank over Nut for standpipe. Put tank back on toilet bowl. Install bolts and tighten. reconnect water line and turn on.

How do I replace the interior tank parts of a toilet?

First turn the water off to the toilet. There should be a valve generally on the left side of the toilet under the tank coming out of the wall. Turn the handle clockwise until it stops, the water should be off. Flush the toilet, remove the lid from the tank and look down into the tank and make sure as much water as possible is out of the tank. If it begins to fill back up, the water is still not off. Try to empty the tank completely. There will be some water left in the bottom. You can either use a shop vac and vacuum it out or sop it up with a towel. Other wise when you take the valve ff in the next step you may get some water on the floor, so be prepared with a big towel.

To remove the valve; disconnect the water line coming from the water valve. There is a big nut on the under side of the tank, left side. You may need a big pair of pliers, turn the big nut clockwise until the water line comes off.

Next there will be another nut under the nut you just took off. It will be the nut that holds the valve to the tank. You will need pliers again. Once you remove this second nut, you can disconnect the valve. Watch out because a little water may come out. There will more than likely be an overflow hose coming off the top of the valve inside the tank. Disconnect it also and pull the old valve out. Put in a new one reverse order.

To remove the "flapper" which is located in the tank center at the bottom. After the tank is empty, look down at the bottom of the inside of the tank. When ever you use the flush handle, you will see the flapper go up and down. This flapper get worn out often and needs replacing as well. It usually has a chain that you will disconnect from the pull lever, and the flapper is help on to the toilet on each side by two little ears. It is very easy to disconnect and pull out of the tank.

These are the two main pieces to replace. I hope this helps.

We have a reliance 606 50 gallon electric water heater. recently we noticed it has an internal leak. I removed the top and removed some of the insulation. the pipe fittings are dry but when you put water...

I wrote a page on leaking water heaters.
With a checklist.
It sounds like you've done quite a bit already.
The element can leak around the gasket.
The TP valve can leak where it screws into side of tank.
Otherwise a leak on side of tank sounds like the tank is rusted through and needs to be replaced.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-heater-leaking.html

You should turn off electricity and water to the tank, and open tub valve on hot side to relieve pressure so the tank will not rupture.
Then you can limp along with a failed water heater by turning the water and electricity on only when hot water is needed.
This will buy you time until a new heater is installed.
A typical electric water heater produces 21 gallons of hot water per hour.
A shower uses 6-9 gallon of hot water, so heater only needs to be turned on 20-30 minutes for a shower, more if the incoming water is very cold.

To economize with your next heater, you might read the following two pages:

Usually they are push in connectors. You can remove the lines by pressing in on the little surface ring on the fitting while pulling on the line. It should pop off easily, to re-install just press in till the line fully seats. Neat fittings!
