Remote does not work. keypad partially works in that it will go up by touch, but will not go down unless held in place. both remote and keypad worked fine before major snowstorm. No obstruction blocking sensors and all wires appear to be in place. Please advise. Thank you

I have had 2 phone that did that and its because I dropped it in liquid. The only way to fix that is a new board.. unless u know how to find and replace components on the board.
Sounds like you have a couple problems. First of all press and hold the button on the wall control that has a lock icon for 3 seconds and release. This should take care of the flashing LED and the remotes will now work. Having to hold the button on the wall control until the door is closed is usually a problem with the door sensors. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each is lit and not flickering.
You might possibly have held the smart/learn button in too long and erased the code for the remote. Hold the button down on the remote and then press and immediately release the smart/learn button. This should program it for the remote. Now make sure the keypad is still working.
The only way to program Homelink without a garage door opener remote is if you have a keypad that allows access to your garage. I tried EVERYTHING and then realized I had the keypad which is wireless; I simply unscrewed the battery operated keypad from its location and held it 1"-3" from the Homelink buttons in my car. I then punched in my code and held the enter button on the keypad at the same time as the Homelink button I wished to program. It worked flawlessly. Good Luck!!!!
Your keypad is not the same "generation" as your remotes. You operator will work with your security plus remotes or your old keypad but not both. Yor cheapest solution is to replace your keypad.
Its possible you held the learn button down too long, this will erase all remotes. The best way to fix this is to press the learn button once and the hold down the button on the remote until the lights blink, you will have to do this with all remotes.
hope this helps.
