When the tv is turned on, the picture does not come on immediately. The screen stays black and the red light on the front of the set will flash on and off. It could take up to 10 minutes for the picture to finally come on. A few times it has not come on at all. Once the picture is on it will work as normal. Why does the picture take so long to come on? Thanks. Thomas

Hello

It is due to your TVs picture tube base socket trouble. Base socket is one that connects the base card with the picutre tube pins. You can locate it at the base end of the picture tube, soldered on to a printed circuit board, and pluged to it. It can be detached from the picture tube neck alongwith that printed circuit board by applying a slight backward pull. Be cacious not to shake the board sideways of upwards or downwards, as it may damage the picture tube pins. Just pull it straight backward. A little pressure may have to be applied sometimes.
After detaching it, look at the wire connections to that base socket. Note it, and resolder it out from the board. Go for a new one of same type. Look keenly to the pin confuguration of the new one with the orginal. Buy one with made up of super quality material. Replacing it will solve your problem. OK.

I have a Phillips big screen tv and the front light is flashing red at all times and the picture will not come on the screen. This light is usually green when the set is on. What can I do to get it green...

I have the SAME issue and so far it seems to be an issue with the fan not kicking on.... I turn it on in the morning, as soon as you hear sound the red lights kick on and I shut it off... it takes a few seconds to shut down so stay close to your remote durring this process and as soon as the "red light" kicks in, turn it off, as soon as it's off, turn it back on... I have to go thru this about 30 times now before I can get the picture to stay on, but it eventually kicks in. Hope this helps!

The tv wont turn on the lights in the front of the tv all stay on the red and two greens and when you try to turn on the power the lights just flash and the screen stays black

That is indicating a internal defect. It's likely you will require a shop repair. Contact the manufacturer with the model number and ask for a referral. The flashing lights indicate that the television is telling you there is a failure someplace in the internal circuitry.

Plasma Hyundai 42'' TV ,NO SOUND OR PICTURE

most times then not it's the capacitors on your power board that blew there for not supplying the tv with enough power if you open it up and check the capacitors it should be leaking some kind of liquid or the tops have bubbled up. its an easy fix cost>>2 dollars each

The tv turns on but no picture.

Mine did the same but no picture, just sound every few seconds for 1-2 seconds. I unplugged from the wall for 10 seconds and plugged back in, works fine now.

Flashing light

this unit will have what is called ik protection wich means that the picture tubes are constantly monitor with this system all the way to the video procesor so the picture will desapear to a black screen even if the audio is ok,there may be a solution if contract a tech like me to adjust the bias so that compensates the drives to the pictures tubes since 1 or the 3 pt are week at this point.
