No sound I have downloaded my songs onto my MP3 player and all songs have transferred to device w/o any problem. The problem is that some of the songs do not play. They are on the MP3 player screen but no sound. I have already contacted walmart to get the licensure peoblem figured out and it was successful however any some songs have sound and some dont.

Greetings,

It's all about the mp3 format, not all mp3's have the same properties.

On the computer, right-click one mp3 and then choose properties then summary (click the advance button at the bottom if necessary) and compare it to another mp3.

Some of the songs are provided in other than mp3 formats..by the way within mp3 itself 2 or 3 types are there...see if you files are less than 5 to 7mb..if it is greater you need to convert then to regular mp3 using any general converter..

Tip

Connect MP3 Player To Computer and Transfer MP3 Songs From Computer To MP3...

To successfully transfer songs either MP3 or WMA files to your MP3 player follow these steps.

1) If your device came with a CD insert this into your computer and follow the on-screen instructions.

If the device has no CD most PCs will recognise the device and update the drivers automatically once you have connected it via USB cable.

2) Connect the device to the PC using USB cable. With many players this is the only means of charging the device.

3) On your computer go to 'Start' - 'My Computer' and you should see the device listed as a USB Mass Storage or Removable Disk.

4) Click and highlight the songs you want to transfer to the MP3 player. You can either drag and drop them directly into the USB Mass Storage Folder shown in Step 3 or you can right click the song file and select 'Send To' USB Mass Storage Device.

5) The songs are now on your MP3 player.

6) Disconnect the player from the USB cable. The player will take a moment to update and you can now play the songs on the player.

Note: In order to transfer music files from a CD these must first be converted to MP3 in order for the player to be able to play them. To do this you can use Windows Media Player to 'Rip' the songs onto your computer in MP3 format. From here use the steps above to transfer them onto the player.

If your MP3 player has video capability these files will need to be converted in to a format that the player can handle. To do this, use the software that came with the device on the CD or you may use a free converter like this one if the original software is lost.

Hope this Tip has helped.

Can't download songs and videos on the mp3 player.

The songs have to be in the right format. Philips does not recognize iTunes. Some Philips players recognize DRM-encrypted WMA's and some do not. If you download songs from a service that offers Mp3 format only, you will never have a problem. Use Windows Media Player to transfer the songs once they are downloaded from the music service.

Not playing songs/ transferring to MP3 player on Rhapsody.

You probably have to redownload the songs again. Forget about the pictures, this player is pretty buggy, it's not worth it.

Problem in files downloading onto GoGear SA5125

Subscribe to an online music service that is compatible with your GoGear, such as Rhapsody's Mp3-Only service - I repeat MP3 ONLY - no other Rhapsody service will work.

Use Windows Media Player to transfer songs to your GoGear, or Rip CD's into Mp3 format - I repeat MP3 FORMAT - using Windows Media Player.

Videos must be transferred using the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter that came on the installation CD. You can also get this program from Philips website.

You will only be able to transfer photos to your GoGear if you have used the installation CD that came with the player. It contains a critical file that Philips has never posted to their website called the Philips Device Plug-In.

Adding Songs from CDs onto my MP3 Player

If you're using Windows, then use Windows Media player to rip your music into WMA. If you don't want to do that, use CDdex to rip your music from CD to MP3. The problem probably lies in whatever program your using to rip your music. To your player. http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/
