The problem is something called a compressor it is underneath the refrigierator and it is what pumps a gas around tubes and i think that either your compressor has seized up or there is no gas left in the tubes if so then you may want to think of a new fridge cause a new compressor costs between $200-700 and labor is more

I turned my car off and something under the hood is still running although all lights and engine is off

The cooling fan can continue to run for a moment or so until the coolant reaches the correct temperature to trigger the switch to turn it off.

Also, sometimes, you can hear the Freon/R134A in the vehicles that have been using the A/C or climate control as it works through the condensor/filter and tubing.

Really nothing else should be working with the switch off at this point.

Good luck

Kitchenaid refrigerator stopped cooling

Yes, it will cost you at least $150.00 for a repair tech to walk to your house, but your case sounds like your motor had problem, When the motor running loudly for several weeks, because it lack Freon R-22, that why made a loudty noise, some place is leaking very slowly, your compressor need freon. I think it is going to cost you at least several hundred to repair it, but if you can find a used working Reg.probably you can save some money.

Please ask your friend who might give you some their opions.

FRIGIDAIRE REFRIGERATOR PROBLEMS

Freezer stayed cold but upper compartment wouldn't. Freeze started having problems with staying cold. I just paid $377 to get the two year old evaporate fan replaced. It is located inside the frig behind the panel in the freezer compartment. It took about 15 minutes. Seems this part is part of the evaporator system but not covered by anything other than the first one year warranty. Problem solved but what a ripoff from Kitchenaid.

Heats, but think cooling fan may have stopped

If the cooling fan is not on, the magnetron can be destroyed.

It will have a full one-year warranty, then probably a 5-year warranty on the magnetron.

GE Customer Service is at http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/contact/

I would contact them right away.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

New Refrigerator Past Warantee Not staying cold

is the fan in the freezer running? if not then the air cant circulate and nothing will cool properly. if is running, is there frost build up on the inside back wall of the freezer? if so you have a defrost problem. if no frost on the back and the fan is running, remove the back panel inside the freezer and make sure all of the silver coils have light frost on them. if only part of them are frosted get out your manual and look at the warranty section. then seal system may have a 5 year warranty. if it does then call sear for warranty service. if the coils only have partial frost and its not under a 5 year warranty buy a new frig. because repair will cost more than its worth
