Are you sure you went into the menu and actually turned it off?

Yes, it's no problem to turn it off in the menu, but each time I restart the car the radio starts again in demo mode, also all preset stations are gone, It seems like the changed setttings are not stored in the radio

if you are losing your preset stations, it sounds like you do not have the yellow wire going to a constant power source. The yellow wire controls the memory and needs to be connected to a source that is always hot.

Hello,
When the AC cord is first plugged into the unit, the unit will go into demo mode. To cancel demonstration mode press the Ex.Bass/Demo button. This button is on the front of the receiver, left side towards the top. The demo mode will be cancelled and the receiver will be in low power consumption mode. It may appear that the unit is off because the display will disappear but the radio is in fact on. When the radio is on you can also adjust the bass with the Ex.Bass/Demo button as well.

Cant turn off the demo mode

There is often confusion in the way the manual states how to achieve removing demo mode. Because this is listed in the "Menu System" section of the manual and assumes you read from page 1 of the manual that you will know to enter the menu in this section of the manual. Here is step by step instructions on removing demo mode on your unit. 1. Go to standby mode 2. Press and hold the menu button till the menu comes up 3. Press control knob towards AM or FM to scroll through menu till you locate "Demo On" 4. Press control knob straight in for approximately 3 seconds till it switches to "Demo Off" 5. Hit menu button again to exit menu
