  1. Open the top panel of your inkjet printer. You should be able to access the ink cartridges once the top is open. Some printers will reposition the cartridge carriage to provide you better access.

  2. 2

Remove the old cartridge from the carriage. Depending on the printer, you may need to press down on the cartridge and then pull outward to remove it. Other printers may require you to lift the cartridge out of the printer.

  3. 3

Unpackage the new replacement cartridge completely. New cartridges will often include plastic strips and protective packaging that must be removed before you can insert the cartridge into the printer.

  4. 4

Insert the new cartridge into the printer. This will be the reverse of removing the old cartridge.

  5. 5

Close the top panel of your inkjet printer and allow the printer to detect the new cartridge. You should now be able to print using your newly changed inkjet cartridge.

How to chang ink

Hello,

When it is time to replace an ink cartridge in your HP inkjet printer, you will receive a pop up message on your computer screen. Replacing an ink cartridge is just part of owning an inkjet printer, and a tradeoff with the high quality imaging you are able to achieve on an HP inkjet. It is not something a professional needs to do; just follow these simple instructions to complete the change and get right back to printing.

  1. Allow your inkjet printer to run entirely out of ink. Unless the quality of your images is suffering, there is no problem with letting your ink run low.
  2. Open the printer door. It should fold from the top down toward the tray. When it is open, it should expose the inner workings of the printer.
  3. Press the change cartridge button. It is at the top of the printer next to the power button.
  4. Pull on the green top of the inkjet ink cartridge and remove it up and out of its holder. Do this gently so the printer is not damaged in the process.
  5. Recycle the empty inkjet cartridge or have it refilled at an ink refilling center.
  6. Carefully remove the tape from the refilled or new inkjet ink cartridge and insert the cartridge in the same orientation as the one you removed.
  7. Push on the green top until the cartridge snaps into place, press the cartridge change button and close the printer door.
Good luck.

Change ink

Usually, with an inkjet printer to change the cartridges, open the cover and then press the power button - or the other button, if there is one. Don't be afraid to press buttons ..

The cartridge carrier will then move from its 'parked' position to a more central, accessible position. Unclip the cartridge retaining clip and simply lift the cartridge out. Virtually all inkjet printers work on this principle.

Don't try and manually force the cartridge carrier along from its parked position otherwise you will cause damage.
