SOURCE: I'm looking for a 14.4 battery for a Mastercraft

Janet, you have a couple of choices. First, my guess is your saw is older and Canadian Tire does not make the battery pack any longer. There are several places you can send your battery pack to and they will replace the cells. There may be a local place. Your other choice is to replace the cells (individual batteries connected together to produce the 14.4v needed). The batteries/cells are available from BatteriesPlus and many other battery stores. However, if you do not have some basic knowledge of soldering, using a volt meter, etc. I would not recommend you change them. Some of these batteries when wired together pack a punch, some can actually weld. So, I would check to see if there is a local place to replace your cells or send it off would be the safest but not the cheapest choice.

Saw stopped working. changed brushes. still not working.just dead.blade turns ok.not even a click

These are notorious for burning out armatures.
The replacement process is pretty involved, I would not attempt unless you are comfortable.
Remove the brushes
Remove the 3 Screws hold the motor assy to the saw
Remove the screws holding the motor housing together.
Separate the housing and you should be able to see right away if the armature is burnt (many times the windings actually blow apart)

Often when the armature burns out it also melts the brush holder assy - I would recommend replacing it as well.
If the armature appears fine then I would lean toward the switch. Makita BSS611 18V LXT Lithium Ion 6 1 2 Circular Saw Parts

Saw stopped working, changed brushes, still will not turn

These are notorious for burning out the armatures. If you are comfortable opening the tool up you can tell very quickly - I have sent a link with the breakdown showing how the tool goes together.
Usually visual inspection is all that is necessary - if the armature is the culprit you will see it is burnt or even blown apart.
If the armature is the problem, most of the time it also damages the brush holder assy & it should be replaced as well.
If the armature is in good shape then your problem is the switch, but my experience would have you check the armature first. Makita BSS611 18V LXT Lithium Ion 6 1 2 Circular Saw Parts

We have a Ryobi P100 Battery and a P110 charge. The battery became very hot while using it and die very fast. When trying to recharge the yellow and green light come on the charger. What is going on?

It sounds like you drained the batteries down as far as they will go. This happened to me and then I purchased the 18V Lithium-Ion battery and charger. I was able to re-charge the drained battery on the new charger. This may work for you as well. They cheapest solution for you is to just purchase a new battery.

Battery compatability problem. I bought the saw and batteries separately and now find that the BL1815 LXT Lithium batteriesdon't fit in the BSS610Z LXT 18v Lithium saw. I also bought the charger. Is there...

The two are not compatable. The battery chargers are also not compatable. The main difference between the two batteries is the Amp Hours. The 1815 is only 1.5 Amp Hours and the 1830 is 3.0 Amp Hours. The slide pattern for the batteries are different respectfully. You will need a DC18SA battery charger to charge the 1830 batts.

Never heard of this Brand but ebay or Craigs list is the place to look for this. If you cant find anything get a Roybi 18 vot charger and hook up external leads to connect to your batteries.
