Question about Sony KDS-R50XBR1 50" HDTV
4 blinks on your set indicates that one of the fans has stopped - or at least there is a problem with the fan circuits. I think this set has 4 of them. If you want to fix this yourself you would need to be handy with a screwdriver and be able to remove the back cover from the set. The fans are usually between $20 and $30 from www.partstore.com
To have this repaired by a tech is probably going to be about $200-$250 assuming you will be requesting in house service.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
