If you don't have matching male to female jacks from player to tv. you need purchase converters (depends on jack type) or replace the old tv or player with a new one

DVD hockup to 37"VIZIO TV

There is no reason that any video player with RCA video/connections cannot be used with your new TV. However, you will not experience any increase in definition, even if your TV is High Definition.
If you used a Component connection from your DVD player (three cables for Video), all that is required is that your TV have Component cable inputs.

Connection to my old TV

your tv do not have an audio/video input...what you need is a device called RF modulator, it converts the audio/video signal from your dvd player into RF signal similar to the signal from the cable operator.it has an audio/video input and a coaxial cable output..

What type of Inputs do you have on your TV. (ANT IN, S-Videio, RCA Video,RCA Audio)

If you only have a ANT In or RF Coaxial hook up you will need a RF Modulator

Dvd player not connected properly to TV?

You might need one or both of:

RF modulator.
AV switch (perhaps from an old video game console)

The modulator accepts the RCA plugs from your DVD player (yellow, white, red) and outputs an RF signal.

You can then plug the ouput of the modulator into the aerial input of the skybox, via the switch, if desired.

Snowy screen playing dvd's

1.Check audio/video RCA jack cables
2.check S-video(if you use S-video cables)
3.check with another dvd player to get normal picture on your tv system. if picture is normal in this process. then problem with your old dvd player.
4.if same problem occurs in other dvd player. then problem with your television. external audio/video processing circuits
5.if the tv is ok. then the problem with your old Dvd player audio.video converting circuits
6. if can be rectified by authorised service engineers
7.Contact service engineer. as there is no recitification process from user part

Connections

Hi If I'm understanding what you have written, the new DVD should hook up exactly the same way your old one did. You connect the red and white cable from the "Audio out" connectors on your new DVD to the "Audio In" connectors on the RF modulator, then connect the Svideo out on the DVD to the Svideo connector on the RF modulator. Then put your TV on channel 3 or 4 depending on what the switch on the modulator is set to, and all should work fine. I would advise you hook your old one back up, then if it works, simply unplug the cables from you old DVD and plug them into the proper jacks on the new one. This eliminates bad cables. If you then get sound, but no picture, the DVD may be set to progressive scan (check manual for procedure take it out of that mode),If you get nothing, then I suspect there is a problem with the new DVD player. The TV/VIDEO switch they mention, would be a switch on the TV or TV remote if you had a newer TV with RCA inputs.....You don't, so disregard that, it does not apply to your TV. You would not need the RF modulator if your TV had that switch. Good Luck!...These things can be a pain, I hope this helps!
