when I turn on the jets I can see flow from all the jets, and I only have one pump, 2 speeds, how do I double check to make sure I dont have an air lock? could it be the high limiter that needs to reset? if so how do you do that?

Maybe a air lock ....do all the jets work do you have 1 pump or 2 pumps ...sometimes when you empty the spa and refill it gets a air pocket in the the pump/s it why you burp a baby to get the air bubble out www.dollarspa.com

lets try this take the filter out and run the the spa.. also.their is a pressure switch on the stainless steel heater with a meter you can tell if the switch is working ...it would be unlikely the high limit switch would be bad.do you have any error codes on the keypad ?

I have a cal spa ps-4-b no manual, it came with a house. I filled it up and turned on the breaker. The pumps started working but the heater light just kept flickering on and off and then just stayed off....

One of three things here.
1.the circulation pump is clogged or failing. (solution: replace or clean out)

2. the filter is old and not letting the circulation pump flow freely (solution: replace filter. to see if this is the problem. Clear the spa of debris. Turn off power. remove filter element. turn on power. see if problem persists. if this fixes it, replace the filter)

3. the heating element is bad. Typically when this happens it blows the breaker, but not always.
You can test this if you turn off power. disconnect the heater and test the heating element for resistance ratings. if you do not know how, this is something a service tech should do.

What does oh mean on hot tub a cal spa

'OH' means 'over-heat'.

Basically the high-limit temperature sensor has detected a temperature far in excess of what it should be.

Check the filter(s), water flow, pump etc....

Ian.

Just changed the thermisor and now the heater won't turn on. 4 green lights come on the control panel: pool on,spa on, aux 1 and aux 2. the underside has 3 green led lights lit and one red for cr21.

If all you did was replace the heat sensor check to be sure that you didn't losten any other wires on the header and on the board. Often when you pull the board for inspection you can pull other wires without knowing. Also be sure your baskets and filter are clean. Good luck.

Lightning Strike - Master Temp 250

I have dealt with similarly damaged boards, I can testify that while they can be repaired, the cost of labor is the most significant factor and some parts may be tough to get. I would have never undertaken it but the company which manufactured the control board (this was a sophisticated electric security gate) couldn't ship us the board in the time we could afford to wait so I repaired it. Once. The second time lightning hit it, I replaced the board and ordered the installation of a 'whole house' surge arrester.

Controls panel is lit but can't see text

This isn't published in the owners manual nor can you find it from Jandy tech support, but my RS4, All-button has a small hole on the left side of the control panel. Insert a paperclip...it's a reset button and will fix a simple problem. My display screen was scrambled and it's working fine now.
