Yesterday my RAZR V3xx cell phone froze on my main screen. The phone starts and shuts down, and makes it all the way to the main screen before freezing. If someone calls my phone, I can see that they are calling, and the phone even rings, but I can't answer the call because the only button that works on the keypad is the on/off button.
The phone has not been dropped and has not gotten wet. I have taken the battery out, the SIM card out, and tried to blow out any dust or dirt that might have gotten it the back of the phone. I've also tried charging the phone. Both of these methods seemed to produce results that were spotty at best. The keypad would begin to work as normal, and then suddenly would freeze again.
Does anyone have a possible solution to this problem? I'd like to try to fix the phone first before I give in and fork over money to buy a new one. Thank you for any help you can provide.

My Motorola RAZR V3 started doing the same thing. When I turn it on, it freezes at the main screen. There isn't any response when I hit any of the buttons. After awhile, the phone turns off. It isn't the SIM card because it works fine in another phone. The battery is also fine. I've done all the basic steps, repowering it on and off, etc. Any suggestions from anyone who has had this problem and found a solution would be great!

My son's phone (V3XX) just started doing the same thing. He has gone in and erased most of his pics, phone logs, text messages, etc. in case that was bogging down the phone, but no luck still. He now has to walk around with his phone open at all times so that it works. If he closes it and then opens it, it is frozen, with the on/off button being the only button that works. He has taken out the battery and SIM card and let it sit awhile and this doesn't help either.

No buttons on my V3xx work except off. Same problems one of the problems from the message board.
ICS0924 - take the phone to a tech and have the firmware on the phone reflash.
janicek - the firmware need to be reflash so take the phone to a mobile service center to have that done.
guest - replaced the flexcable
