It is because "Image Stabilization" and it is normal. Turn it off and it will not shudder.

Get a photo card reader from Walmart and you can transfer your pictures without using the camera. It will transfer way faster than it takes with the camera cable too

I have olympus e520 the camera is saying card error and i cant retrieve pictures is there any way to retreive pictures and why did this happen

It's either the card or the camera- do you have any other cards and do they work in the camera?- if the do you might try using a card reader hooked to your computer and try a program like Image rescue or Photorecovery. All camera memory cards are just that- much like the memory in a computer and vulnerable to physical and electrostatic damage

Olympus E520 digital slr. Only auto setting is working? On other settings, live-view goes dark(?).

SLR cameras are meant to be used with the viewfinder, not live view. Live View on SLR's is a luxury that point and shoot users have come to expect, sadly. I suggest you start using the viewfinder and disregard the live view altogether, since it doesn't always give you an accurate representation of what the photo will turn out like, and it consumes battery power at a ridiculous rate.

Blurred Images with Olympus E520

When operating any digital camera, the camera tries to capture the best focus and exposure for that particular scene. By pressing the shutter button half-way down, the focus and exposure is being set. There will be a green circle on the upper left hand corner of the screen, then your camera is ready to take the picture. Slowly depress the shutter the rest of the way down to take the picture.

E520, fn button can not be set to "face detect", and can not reset to factory settings

In Auto mode this is true. If you turn the camera dial to P you will be able to reset the camera to factory settings and set the fN button to be face detect. In Auto the camera is already using the factory default settings for the camera.
