Question about American Standard Plumbing

Open Question

Have same dual flush on all house systems. One is letting water continuously into lavatory. On examining, filling system labelled Fluid Master USA 400 series and dual flush system has no name but a number 38 8-22407000 B5. Flanges (4) on unit to attach dual flush unit to base fitting of cistern have broken off - so preventing seal and allowing water to continually leak into lavatory pan. Flushing unit also firmly attached to press-button component and therefore ceramic cistern top cover . Have not tried to fix it yet but need to know full spec to order and whether new unit will have full instructions on how to detach unit from cistern top and push button component OR can you tell me how best to do it?

SOURCE: The faucet leak is from the top gasket around the control handle.

Yes, Grone will give provide a daagram and parts list.    All you need to know is the model number. The beasst source for parts is the manufactor. Can you match it up? Is it single lever or two handles? Can you go to a grone dealer and look it up in their model book? THey can also provide the rebuild parts.

I have a uberhaus dual flush toilet. I turned off the water supply in the house to work on a sink and when I turned it back on the toilet won't fill anymore. If I fill the tank or the bowl it will flush...

You will have to disassemble the fill valve and clean it. When you shut the water off and on to work on the sink it dislodged dirt and scale in the water piping which clogged the toilet fill valve. Check your lavatory sink areators too they may also be partially plugged. Hope this helps.

Jacuzzi toilet

After flush the system must close the hole which lets water into the toilet. If it does not close after flush, it is continuously letting the water thru. Check if it closes after flush and allows tank to fill.

What is proper method for flushing the radiator and engine in a 1999 Pontiac Montana?

1: Drain coolant system
2: Purchase coolant flush, making sure you have the proper amount for your size of coolant system
3: Pour coolant flush into your radiator, filling the rest with water
4: On the coolant flush bottle it will tell you how long to run your vehicle
5: Once done running, let cool enough to open radiator cap, and drain system COMPLETELY by first draining out of pep **** on radiator, then taking one side of the hoses off the radiator and draining those
6: Put hoses back on and fill system with coolant. When the fluid gets to the top of the fill port on radiator, start vehicle and let run, allowing air to escape the system, and fill as necessary

My car started over heating and I stopped on the side of the road and poured water into my brake fluid instead of my radiator and then drove it straight hone abou 7 mile

Brake fluid is hygroscopic (pulls in moisture from the atmosphere). Putting water in there is definitely very bad for the system because water will readily mix with the fluid and can actually boil as you made a hard stop.
First thing to do is remove the fluid from the reservoir using a turkey baster or siphon. Re-fill with fresh fluid, then bleed the front wheels, doing that 'till the master is nearly empty, Re-fill and do the same at the rear brakes. Repeat entire procedure twice. Unlike normal bleeding, you don't add while you are doing the procedure but run the reservoir nearly empty, only adding fluid when it comes close to empty. And, you begin at the front instead of the rear. Do not let the reservoir become empty or air will enter the system.
After completing the flush, it's a good idea to empty the reservoir and re-fill once or twice in the next few weeks just to make sure no more water is in there.
You didn't mention what you did about the overheating but make sure that's taken care of asap or the least of your problems will be the brakes!!

Adjust the float on the Fluid-master a little higher if possible. This should allow more water to enter the bowl after the flush.

Toilet acts like it's getting pluged up as soon as you flush .

use a two gallon buck to flush your toilet - you pour the two gallons directly into the toilet bowl if it flushes fine you need to replace the flush valve, as it is not letting enough water through to properly flush the commode. either rebuild the flush system in the tank or install a fluid master and have a good nights sleep knowing that in the morning you will not leave a suprise for someone else in the family.

Toto Toilet - no water flow to refill tank after flush

Remove the tank lid and look at the fill valve. Is it a yellow valve?
This fill valve is common on the Toto Toilets and can easliy plug with debrie.

They can be disassmbled and cleaned. however, I usually just replace the valve with Fluid Master Fill valve.
You will also want to check the water coming into the toilet by turning off the water that supplies the toilet and disconnecting the water supply line. After removing the water supply line turn on the water at the valve to make sure that the water is flowing properly. Check the supply line also to make sure it is not plugged.
Be sure and place a small container to catch the water that will come from the valve. A towell will also help from making too much of a mess.
If the Supply line and the valve are clear the problem is in the fill valve.
The G-Max system denotes the Flushiing system which is a 3" flapper that allows the water from the tank to flow into the bowl quicker.
