If it's not draining you could have a plugged pump.usually there will be an error code like f21 or something.first you can try to unplug the washer for 15 to 20 minutes to reset the computer board.if it still doesn't drain then you have to clean out the pump.unplug the washer, open the door and with a shop vac vac out the water from the tub.next remove the bottom panel and you'll see the pump,in the middle of the pump you can remove the middle piece, have the shop vac ready, turn the middle piece counter clockwise slowly until water starts coming out,vac it up until it drains out, then remove the middle piece of the pump, most likely you'll find coins and a bunch of other gross stuff, also it could be stinky, clean out the coin catch and then stick your finger in the pump and feel around, make sure nothing is stuck where the impellar is,also check the rubber hose behind the pump, sometimes things get stuck in there,i stick the vac in the pump and vac out anything that's in there. put the piece back in the pump, plug in the washer, next dump some water into the washer with a container like a half gallon or so,put the washer on drain and see if it drains,if it doesn't drain turn the middle piece of the pump and drain out the water and check to see if anything is stuck in the impeelar of the pump,if it's clear the pump is bad but most of the time the pumps hold out.let me know how you make out and one more thing the number one killer of front loaders is to much detergent,if you use the cap off the bottle you should be using 1/4 a cup that's it,it's h.e. detergent and it's double the strenth of regular detergent.it eats at the rear bearing and spider gear, when it breaks the machine makes a loud banging sound in the spin cycle and it's time for a new washer, the part alone is 500 dollars so cut back on the detergent

Check the two water hoses on the back of your washer. Turn off water supply and unscrew one hose at a time and check the small filter screen inside the connection on the washer. Also check and make sure the electric water control valve is working properly. ( this is the plastic fittings your two water lines screw into. Remember this valve is controlled by the washing machine timer and (on off ) control.
Hope this is helpful

Whirlpool Calipso model clothes washer shows a LD and doesnt run

The OB indicates and out of balance condition has been detected by the motor control.
One thing about the OB error is that the lid must be opened to clear the error and allow the washer to advance to the next part of the cycle. If the lid is not opened to adjust the clothes then the OB error will happen again.

If the OB error was cleared and the OB occurs with an empty load then the motor control has failed.

The drain pump must work. The image below shows how to run a diagnostic test to check the drain pump. Follow the instructions in the image below and check the drain pump operation. If the pump runs and the water does not drain then the sump is clogged. If the pump hums but does not run then the pump needs to be replaced.

Washer will not spin and indicates "F20".

Hi there,

"F20" is a No Water Detect error code. Some of these error codes can be erroneous, however. The first step in troubleshooting any error code on these washers is to, first, unplug the unit for AT LEAST 30 minutes in an attempt to reset the CCU. If the error code returns after a reset, then you know you have a real problem. The following link explains the error code:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r1491905-f20_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

This is one of the more involved error codes to try to resolve because there are so many causes. I suggest you start with the simple things first. Make sure the water inlet hoses are unclogged and water flows freely through them. You can determine this by turning off the water and removing each hose from the back of the washer. Place them in a bucket or position the washer where you can place them inside the wash tub and turn the water back on. Both hoses should have free unobstructed water flow. It is common for the sediment screens at the end of the hoses to become clogged if you live in an area the uses well water, or if you have hard water.

Next, Make sure you don't have a siphoning problem. This is causes by placing the drain hose too far down in the standpipe. This creates a vacuum and the washer constantly drains as it tries to fill. If you pull up on the drain hose and hear a sucking noise, you have the drain line positioned too far in the standpipe. You need to keep an air gap in order to allow proper drainage.

Then, check the drain pump for obstructions. There is a clean out reservoir that you can remove the access the pump interior. Use the instructions I provide to perform these steps.

These are the simple items that you can easily rule out, first. Follow the remaining tips I provided you and if you still have questions, let me know before rating the solution.

I hope this helps you.
Good Luck!!
Thanks

Whirlpool Fridge makes a loud dripping sound all the time G56SHE

Erin,

The water you hear sounds like it's coming from the automatic defroster in the freezer compartment. It runs down a drain tube into the pan you describe under the fridge. The pan is heated and evaporates the water.

Just some possible explanations if you are hearing "lots" of water"

* You may be in a warmer, more humid climate
* The temperature and humidity in your dwelling is elevated
* The door gasket on the freezer may be leaking
* The freezer is too full
* The freezer door is not closing properly
* The freezer door is being left open for extended periods
* There is a problem with the defrost cycle

If you are hearing water running all the time, check the ice maker water line and fill valve (if you have an ice maker) - there could be a leak or other malfunction.

Water only drains sometimes

you have clog and the first place to look is at the 2 hoses that attach to your water pump.Remove both of the hoses and look inside them and inside the pump for something that is clogging it and remove the item.
