How do I open my sony pcv-v1

1. Ground Yourself
2. Unplug everything and press the power button for 10 sec to
discharge any residual power.
3. Place PC face down on bench with base over edge.
4. Swing PC unit forward and unscrew the case retaining screw on both
sides of the PC unit, swing unit other way and remove other two
screws.
5. Case can be loosened, pull large cover up and remove both sides.
Parts are then exposed.
6. A shiny metal box covers the memory on the left side of the PC unit. 7. Remove tape that retains it,slide and lift off from the edge facing you.
8. Memory slots are then exposed....insert and reassemble PC.

Good Luck!

Need to change battery

Presumable you mean the CEMO battery take the side cover off look around the mother board you will see a small silver battery which retains the clock timing it will be retained in a round clip holder change it. Presumable you have to press F1 on boot up to continue this indicates a dud CMOS battery.

VAIO PCV-W20 PC Desktop I need to change the CMOS battery, how do I get the motherboard out so that I can replace the battery?

Hi
You shouldn't need to remove the board to change the battery.
Just to be sure, this is a desktop and not a laptop, right?
If so,remove the side panel,or open the case if it opens without panels coming off. You'll see the battery somewhere on the board,it's about the size of a quarter and will be a CR2032.Just remember which side goes in first.

every computer case has an opening and if your motherboard has more slots for ram than one you can buy one for *********** board but make shure it is the same as the one you already have in it.

Sony vaio VGN FJ290P password reset sony vaio VGN FJ290P

I have set the password for administrator when i entered the bios set up. you can change its setting but not the configuration unless you've entered the password. you can't change the password with a new one if you cant enter the old password. Next time dont forget your password because laptops has its security even when stolen you cant open its bios set up if its protected by password. CMOS battery is in the mother board. You need a service technician to open your laptop to reset the bios setup battery.
