Question about Teac A-H300 Amplifier

1 Answer

Hi, using my amp for a long period on new years eve and the amp suddenly died. I've changed the plug fuse and checked internal glass fuse, both ok.Cant see anything obvious I.e. burning or over heating signs inside the box but as the transformer has an internal thermal fuse I wonder if this has blown. how do I check it and is there anything else that may have blown?

stripped the transformer, the thermal fuse inside had blown, replaced it with one from a hotpoint washing machine(same rating slightly larger) rebuilt minus 3 plates and has been working perfectly ever since. I have mounted a small cpu fan on the casing to help cool if on for long periods at high volume lol

There's only one way to check the transformer and that's with a voltmeter. If there is mains going in but nothing coming out of the secondary, then that fuse has gone. They are not designed to be replaced and Transformers are what the trade call 'Safety Parts'. So they have to be replaced with the same thing. I would contact Teac and find out if they still do make them or where you can get one from.

Hi I ve had the cd10 for a year and it's been used twice . The problem is the amp powers on with out the popping speaker sound the led is showing red which is the powers on but get no sound what so...

Hi there. You may have a blown fuse.Unplug the amp then undo the screws that hold it all together.Remove the wires off the speaker and put an AA battery across the speaker connections(of the speaker). You will hear a clicking sound if the speaker is ok.If not then the speaker is blown. This could also damage the circuitry.Check the fuse(s) and replace with exactly the same rating.Assemble and test if still no go then the circuitry is faulty. You could then take it to a repair shop and ask for a quote to repair it.
It might be cheaper to buy a new unit.

Was watching tv ( LG 50"PC1D) as normal and all of sudden the tv just died, no power. checked the 10 amp fuse in plug and this had blown for what ever reason. There are 4 other plugs on this extention...

Make sure that you've replaced it with same current(ampere) and voltage ratings to avoid further damage in the future. Fuse, sometimes failed due to voltage surge, aging or the unit gone to maximum current usage. Low quality fuse is also to consider for this kind of symptoms.

Microwave suddenly died in the middle of cooking

The only 2 user replacable parts in a microwave are the lightbulb,
and the 20 amp ceramic fuse. if you have checked the power cord outlet it's pluged into and both are fine. It's possabbe the fuse behind the controls is bad. Theese fuses look the old car fuses only
not made of glass they use white ceramic. A philips screwdriver will normally remove the outer shell of the microwave make shure it's not plugged in! After removing the outer shell look behind the controls on one of the power lines there will be a snap in fuse the above mentioned removal is easy it will pop right out replacment is oppsite of removal. If the fuse is bad replacing it cost about $3
warning don't mess with any thing else if you do this!!! microwaves contain radioactive meteral If you don't think you can do it safely take it to a pro or buy a new one
Hope This Helps gota lot of good years out of microwaves by changing those fuses. Most people just throw them away microwaves that is
If this helps ya
please leave feedback

No power!

There's an internal fuse - about 20 Amps. It usually blows when the magnetron dies. Unplug the unit from the wall and access the internals. You should plainly see the fuse holder - remove and check the fuse. Spares are available at any ACE hardware store. If the unit is more than 5 years old, I wouldn't mess with it.

Rotel ra-820 amp speaker ports dieing

You may have blown a fuse on the left channel due to speaker wires shorting or a defective speaker. If there are no fuses on the rear of the amp there are probably internal fuses. They are usually glass with a small wire running from end to end. If the fuse is blown the wire will be broken. Replace with the same value of fuse.

Television died

Unplug the set, remove the back and follow the power cord onto the main board, where you will see a small glass fuse. Replace that fuse with a new GMA 6.3 amp fuse. I have seen many of those fuses in Panasonics "pop" for no apparent reason. If that does not fix it then replace the back and have the set serviced by an experienced tech.
