  • A mineral acid is defined as a water-soluble acid derived from inorganic minerals by chemical reaction as opposed to organic acids (e.g. acetic acid, formic acid).
  • Specifically: When you put sulfuric acid (H2SO4) into water, all of the molecules of acid will dissociate into two protons (H+) and sulfate anions (SO4 -2). There will be no intact molecules of H2SO4 in solution. When you put acetic acid (CH3COOH) into water, only some of the molecules dissociate into proton (H+) and acetate anions (CH3COO-). Some of the acetic acid molecules remain intact in solution.
  1. - Mineral acids are inorganic derivatives while carboxylic acid is a organic compound.
  2. - Mineral acids dissociate completely into ions while carboxylic acid dissociate partially.
  3. - Mineral acids show high conductivity while carboxylic acid shows low conductivity.
  4. - Mineral acids shows negligible in ionization on increasing the temperature while ionization of carboxylic acid increases with the increase of temperature.

Why does my pressure washer cut out after a few minuets use ?

Solenoid points have dirt n them, or have been burnt at some stage, and the spring tension has weakened,
Out with them and replace with new set, if its a popular model, they are not too expensive, if its an odd brand, find the part number, 99.9% of the time, another breed will fit,
Aslo check fine filters ( more than likely nylon ), for dirt or gunk,
If the washer is being used from a deep well bore, heavy minerals
can block filters...if this is the case, make a solution of hydrochloric acid & water, about 50%, even weaker, wear rubber gloves & eye protection, ( this is a must) , keep children at bay and just use common sense, this will 100% remove any mineral deposits and leave the nylon intact,
Also check for spiders, small frogs 'The Mud Wasp', 99% of the time a visual inspection will tell you , Always unplug if its 240V (Australian) ( 110 ? American ) . you will know that,
Also check for leaks,
If the pressure washer is electric or petrol or diesel, the pressure points work on the same principal
Hope this helps

What is tourine

Taurine, or 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid, is an organic acid widely distributed in animal tissues. It is a major constituent of bile and can be found in the large intestine and accounts for up to 0.1% of total human body weight.[1] Taurine has many fundamental biological roles such as conjugation of bile acids, antioxidation, osmoregulation, membrane stabilization and modulation of calcium signaling. It is essential for cardiovascular function, and development and function of skeletal muscle, the retina and the central nervous system. Taurine is unusual among biological molecules in being a sulfonic acid, while the vast majority of biologically occurring acids contain the more weakly acidic carboxyl group. While taurine is sometimes called an amino acid, and indeed is an acid containing an amino group, it is not an amino acid in the usual biochemical meaning of the term, which refers to compounds containing both an amino and a carboxyl group.

Steam wont work on my coffee machine

If you've used the machine for awhile, and you have not cleaned/descaled it, it may be clogged with mineral deposits. Citric acid, a white natural mild acid is a good descaler. It comes in powder form and readily dissolves in water. You can locate citric acid on the web (ebay). White vinegar also works, about 1/2 & 1/2 with water. Run the solution through the machine to descale it. It may take a few treatments to get all the mineral deposits out. Use about 2 tbsp of baking soda in water afterwards to neutralize the acid.Hope this Helps!!

Oral magnesium supplements:

Mineral salts

Magnesium acid complexes

Magnesium chelate

Transdermal magnesium supplements:

Magnesium oil

Magnesium gel

Magnesium bath flakes

Magnesium lotion

Red light will not go off

The only other light I'm aware of is the light in the back of the machine attached to the radio frequency ionizer. This light lets you know that both of the ionizers including the needle point ionizer are working. When the light is off, it means the ionizers need cleaning or service. When I clean my machines, I always clean off both ionizers w/ a 50/50 solution of Ammonia w/ a paper towel. I do this the same time I clean the ozone plate. If you're machine is still under the 3 year warranty, you can send it back to be fixed for no charge except shipping. I hope this helps.

I have excess mineral depsoits (white, chaslky scaling). Whaty chemical do I use to dissolve it ?

Vinegar will help loosen up the minerals. If problem is bad then muratin acid will work. COUTION muratic acid can be purchased at your local hardware store and is used for cleaning concrete, but can be very dangerous. It does however eat through hard water deposits. It will emit fumes while working so be sure to ventilate and it can discolor colored porcelin. We have used it in the trade for many years to acid clean toilets. Hope this helps.
