There seems to be a problem with either one or two things have you tried the cable connection on another tv if it works there then the tv tuner in your tv has gone bad and the tv will be easier to replace than repair

Have a element tv some of the stations now are either all jumping squiggly or just outright blank, no sound either, whats wrong? Its only 3 months old.

Can you play a DVD ok in it? If that displays ok, then the problem is whichever way you get your television signal, cable, satellite, to air etc. Bad connections is the main culprit of a weak or confused signal.

If the picture is bad on DVD, take the set back.

The screen is blank, needs to change the lense

If this is a warranty item, the DVD player should be returned to the place of purchase, if not! and you do not see the screen logo, the LCD panel is bad or the video cable is loose that attaches to the main board. But if you do see logo, the laser pickup assembly is bad, not cost effective to repair, far cheaper to replace.

I'm trying to record movies with my DVD recorder but it's only recording a blank screen.

If you are watching digital cable (or satellite) TV your DVD player most likely doesn't have access to that image. You'll probably need to connect a cable box to the DVD recorder or only record on normal or expanded cable.

N o picture just static noise

The symptom sounds like a dead tuner and the screen blanking may be due to missing video synchronization signals which may cause either blanking or 'blue screen' on some sets.
This could also still be because of a failing power supply although they will generally just cause no turn-on at all.
I would first substitute another TV just to be sure your signal source (cable or satellite) isn't causign the loss of signal.

No picture on tv just blank screen

Sounds like you lost your High Voltage Power source which lights up your screen. If you don't know anything about TV's do not attempt to fix this problem. The High Voltage Power Supply is around 40,000 Volts!

TV screen goes blank but power stays on

Sounds like the CRTs are going into protective blanking due to the vertical output ic needing to be resolderd. Try resoldering the vertical IC that may possibly fix the issue.

Sound no picture on cable

sweetkiss, if it works through the dvd player and not on cable/satellite box then the tuner is bad, if you have any type of cable/satellite box try running A/V cables out of the box to video input on the back of the tv and switch the tv to that video input, ie; vid 1, vid 2 etc. (your using one of those inputs for the dvd) this will give you your picture back, you can of course also replace the tuner in the set, good luck, BMW Rider

I have checked all the connections and replaced all the cables with the highest quality I could buy.  I think the problem is in the TV tuner itself.  I live in a MDU so I am stuck with a rooftop satellite/master antenna.

Having trouble hooking up my DVD player

Try looking on your tv's menu for "input" or "input select". This should allow you to switch to your front AV inputs. If that doesn't work hook into the coaxial cable in the back of the set (the one for your cable or satellite input. Plug the cable from the output or to tv side of your reciever into the input of the dvd player and run another lenghth of coaxial cable from the output of the dvd player to the coaxial input where your satellite or cable was plugged into the back of your set. When you want to watch a DVD just turn on the DVD player and the picture should come up. When you turn it off your satellite or cable should come right back.
