What type of tablet? In order to turn on the tablet, the circuit board needs to see that connection that is made when the button is pushed. You have to make that connection. I'd suggest ordering a new button.

You will want to take a look at the tablets you just used. I have personally never seen Chlorine tablets that were not all white. I would quit using that brand of tablet and go back to the all white chlorine tablets. You may need to flush the chlorinator of the old tablets in order to get you system cleaned up and working normally.

You seem to have been thorough; I found no US source for the tablets.
When searching google.de and using the German name for these, 'Bosch reinigungstabletten' I got almost 20,000 hits in just about every European language.
They are available from numerous stores there at prices ranging from 7 to 12 Euros (today: 1 Euro=~ $1.60) for a package of 10 plus shipping.
Considering the cost of the machine, this is an inexcusable omission by Bosch and I recommend contacting them directly and demanding they be stocked in the US or Canada.
